I know, he's beardless and all, but i like how he turned out.

He strikes me as saying "Bring it on, richman. How could you possibly make my life any worse?"

Hey, he looks like the illegitimate half-brother of my dwarven noble, Alexios:

Gotta say that i really like yours, though.

Might hit a lot of clichés but it's just the perfect drunken brawler you want any dwarf to be:P

had to make the clichès first. Angry drunken dwarf, stuck up elven mage, ... normal human warrior (made it female to change things up a little). Now its time to try and figure out how to make a more unique character.

But he lacks the beard!

But seriously he does look much like Gill Kaiser's dwarven noble. There really is room for a story there :P

Ye called? Mine here is rather un-dwarf-like, both in looks and persona. He's more of suave, somewhat slithery and perhaps even a bit cowardish type of rogue. Primary reason why I went beardless on him is simply because having a beard locks out the option of altering your mouth, jaw and chin features, which annoyed me. But in the end, I like the way he looks and considering how he is, not having a proper beard is actually quite fitting. Thinking he's probably somewhat of an outsider even among other dwarven commoners.

He looks good! I like many of the dwarven portraits/avatars I've seen, on this thread and elsewhere. :) The faces of the men seem to have the most "character" of all the races and both genders IMO. Too bad it's harder to make a "good" dwarven woman, I'm not satisfied with my noble warrior at all yet. (By "good" I mean not human-pretty.)

After reading your post, I was inspired to find Hayan, a fair Dwarven maiden who was never given a chance to shine…

I made her quite pretty actually, and only changed two or three sliders to make her serious. I felt really guilty doing it though…Posted Image

Very interesting! :)

I've been toying with the idea to use one of the complexions to the right side of the scale as well, to give my noble warrior a more rugged dwarven look like most of the males have ... but while it does make her more "cragly" it also makes her look older than I think the PC would be. On male dwarves this complexion setting works better IMO. But still ... maybe I'll give it a try in-game and see ow it works out.

I thought the default was really pretty, so I slightly modified her design to get my 3rd or so playthrough:

The portraits don't do them justice however, maybe I'm just bad at making portraits. I've tried making an a "decent" looking Dwarf male without the full-on beard, and he looks OKAY. He's uploading if he's not on my profile yet.

Those are some really good-looking dwarves, yes. :) Maybe a bit too much so for what I want for mine, but good work!

(How do you directly insert an image into a post? Seems I'm too tired to work it out ... ugh.)

I see a lot of people picking dwarf.. but I see more noble than commoner, maybe because of the armor... you should think that this armor is gonna stay a short time in your character, and in the end, your origin only remains.

I'm definitely picking it based on the origin. For one, Gorim is by far the most interesting temporary companion.

DWARF NOBLE ORIGIN SPOILERS:

I also love that I will be joining the Legion of the Dead, because that is one of the most interesting concepts in DA lore to me.

Well, i did choose the noble for origins sake. I'm used to play the underdog in most games, but dwarves with a caste system full of scheming and treason? That makes for an interesting change and is the main reason for me not only to play a noble first, but to play a dwarf first at all

Both origins are appealing to me, but gotta love the armor. It's not just that though, it's the noble origin itself - I love the politics and corruption surrounding it. Gorim looks awesome too.

Want to see a REALLY cute femme dwarf?

<-----

When I first play through as dwarf (my second playthrough), I'll be going as commoner. I really like the origin based on what I've heard of it so far.
