I think if the endings from the get go were like the stuff we see in the extended everyone would've been more happy if it was originally in the game from the start.
Would Everyone Love The Extended Cut If It Was Already In The Main Game Beforehand?

I would have understood some semblance of what the **** was going on.
But I wouldn't have come here if it had.

I think it would have made some people happy not them all though because people are still going to hate on the fact that there are only three endings which they don't like, personally i would have been happy if the EC was in the game all along because I felt that the original ending cutscene was just sloppy and half hearted.

No, not EVERYONE would love it. However, would there be an outrage anywhere like there was? Absolutely not. The numbers of dissatisfied fans would probably be similar to how many dissatisfied fans there is with Uncharted 3's ending, or God of War 3's ending.

even though they should have been the game in the first place, the Starbrat would probably till ****** people off

no because it's a meh ending that still is confusing
though it would never have been as hated
I can't love an ending the messed up weird and filled with questions and things never to be explained

I don't think there'd be the level of rage and venom that was received.
But I don't think anyone's current opinion would really change.

It would have reduced the rage yes, but the main problem will always be the star kid.

No, because then it wouldn't be the extended cut. It'd just be the ending to ME3. Mediocre, but passable.

It's still crap

It's much easier to see the underlying problems without all the extra visuals and distractions that the EC brought, definitely. I doubt there would have been as much of fuss.
My biggest gripe was the way the war assets were treated though. The EC didn't really change any of that.

It would have been better of course, still the ending was just so out of left field that no amount of explanation can really explain the Ghost Kid enough to make it feel like it was the ending of Mass Effect. It is just a bad premise all around, and nothing can be done about it now.

Of course I am likely some nutjob conspiracy theorist, but all that work on war assets is the proof to me that the ending we got was a rush job, and nothing like what was intended.
I picture the war assets, the epic decisions in rounding up help, the cool side quest covert ops, ships and such we found were intended to be used in awesome ending cutscenes of battles as we won or failed in varying degrees........ya know the 16 endings. Too much work was put into the war assets, tying in the mplay, to just ignore it all.
Time ran out, all that was ignored for the fast and dirty choose a color, it was give us that ending or miss the financial quarter deadline.

I don't think I'd have liked it, but I wouldn't have felt compelled to participate in the whole "Take Back ME3" thing.

There would have been no outcry.
But that's half the problem. We can easilly see the extended cut is what "Should" have been in game from the get go. They instead let us go with the original crap endings.
And now they want to make everything better by doing the bare minimum. (Which is the EC)

Nope.
If they had allowed a way to insulate the geth and EDI in the destory ending then give the catalyst the middle finger, then I would have been ok with it.

I wouldn't have loved it but I would have been much more satisfying than the, "WTF just happened" feeling I had when I originally beat the game. The really disappointing part is feeling like that's what the endings should have been in the first place even if they weren't perfect...

No, the ending is still garbage. There are plenty of reasons not to love it, even after the extended cut.
But I think there would have been a lot more people who would simply say "Wow, that sucked" instead of "That's one of the worst things I've ever seen", so I'm guessing the reaction would have been comparatively mild.

When I first saw the original ending, I was blown away by how dismal the execution was. It was so poorly done it reminded me of a teacher taking away your test halfway through a sentence. Now that the EC sorta, kinda completed the endings, it's now abundantly clear how badly conceived the endings are, Starchild and all. Had the EC been the original endings, I for one wouldn't have been ready with my torch and pitchfork to storm BW, but I still would have been (and still am) plenty disappointed.
