yes, i would love the EC endings even more if they were part of the original game. the Extended Cut content should have been there from the beggining.
Would Everyone Love The Extended Cut If It Was Already In The Main Game Beforehand?

The massive backlash probably would not have happened.
I would have been slightly disappointed but satisfied with the closure. Pretty much how I feel about the EC as is

I think the backlash would have been far less severe, but there's just too many flaws that the Extended Cut doesn't address, and the RGB endings and Synthesis would still be eye sores.

all EC was was a patch with a few retcons and still photos of generic stuff. honestly the only way I could see myself liking it is if I liked the original endings... which severely rustled my jimmies.

Some people would still have complained but you wouldn't have had an ending controversy, a retake movement, or the indoctrination theory. Basically it would be about the same percentage of people who are normally complaining about some other feature they didn't like.

I question why its DLC and going to eventually gain a price tag in the first place. The original endings taste as great as the Dead Sea. It really isn't worth any price tag anyways as it really didn't add anything it set out to add in the first place; "Clarity" and "Closure".

No. The endings still come down to insane choices. There still too many "Shepard dies" and not enough "Shepard lives" endings, A living Shepard still has to commit genocide and get buried in rubble (and call that "living")
No closure.
No closure.

Negative Ghostrider, that pattern is full.

I agree with the most posted here. It would be easier to move on from the ending that was "meh", rather than from the one that sucked terribly. I am sure people would still find plotholes and raise other issues with the game as a whole (which I find mostly valid points, but that's just my opinion).
But I don't think so many would claim never to purchase from BW again.
I know, I still would've been disappointed with such endings, and Starkid would still irritate me greatly, but at least it would make some decent sense and have some closures.

I'd have been extremely disappointed with the ending instead of outraged. Which is an improvement I suppose.

No, the ending is still garbage. There are plenty of reasons not to love it, even after the extended cut.
But I think there would have been a lot more people who would simply say "Wow, that sucked" instead of "That's one of the worst things I've ever seen", so I'm guessing the reaction would have been comparatively mild.
This.
