I recently reinstalled ME3 on a very new machine.
I can play single player just fine, at high resolution, max settings, etc.
However, as soon as I click multiplayer, during the load screen (background + spinny circle on the bottom right), my machine completely freezes up. As in completely. Unresponsive to ctrl+alt+del, ctrl+shift+esc, alt+f4, etc.
After waiting 10 minutes, the machine is still like that. Furthermore, there is no HDD indicator, the machine is silent, just sitting there dead. The only solution is to force shut down the computer.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
I'm using a i7 Intel quad core processor, and an oldish AMD graphics card (which can still run it at max settings).
16 gb of ram.
The main reason I reinstalled ME3 is to play the new multiplayer with my friends, so it would be great if someone could help me with this problem.

As an addendum, the game still runs fine (at low settings), on my 2 year old laptop, but i would obviously prefer to use my gaming machine.
EDIT: i previously thought it was an antivirus/security issue, so I also disabled windows firewall, and all antivirus programs. I also ran it as admin, no luck.
EDIT2: oop, found the "known issues" thread, trying the fix now.
EDIT3: nope, didn't work at all, this is pretty dumb!
