B: Which is racist! Not all Chinese people are into martial arts. He is clearly a tolken. Secondly he was never in the games!
A: But Lu Ming is amazing. Whahh, ak pahh, hu, hu! You see that's Kung Fu for, "loads of money!"
B: Kung Fu isn't a language.
A: The millions of Chinese people who will purchase the Blu Rays beg to differ. Everyone knows Mass Effect is going to tank at the Box Office. We need to make up our money on sales of Blu Rays!
B: And how is a racial stereotype going to achieve that?
A: He is not a racial stereotype. He is someone who the Chinese people can relate to!
B: Remember the time you tried to set Assassin's Creed in India and turn it into a Bollywood musical?
A: Yeah. That was an amazing idea. Imagine a singing assassin about to stab a guy.
B: Which would completly blow his cover!
A: Yeah, yeah. Lu Ming is going to be in the next Mass Effect film.
B: I don't want Lu Ming in the film!
A: Fine! I'l compromise. I'll have him killed on Virmire!
Is "Person A" exective producer Jon Peters? If so, then Shepard needs to fight a giant mechanical spider and a polar bear.
Bye Bye Mass Effect Movie

Just googled him. Seen filmography. He was an Executive Produce of these films
Some good films such as: The Colour Purple, Batman, Batman Returns and Rain Man.
Some okay films such as: Superman Returns, Warewolf in London and Flashdance
Then some not so great films such as: Tango & Cash, The Bonfire of the Vanities, Wild Wild West (if Will Smith wasn't in that film, I couldn't have endured it), and Money Train.
Jon Peters doesn't seem so bad. I've seen a few of his films. But remember the producer isn't the be all and end all of a bad film. How much power the producer has can greatly vary from film to film. Sometimes they just fund the film, sometimes they oversee the film's production and sometimes they completly take control of the films production.
I have no idea how much input Jon Peters has in his films as executive producer.
I don't think there is any reason why he couldn't make a good producer for a Mass Effect film. I'd be more concerned with who the director is. But your comments about him and you're associating him with "Person A" was quite amusing nevertheless.

Can't see it being a good movie anyway I probably wouldn't even watch the thing just to save myself from the disappointment
My expectations.
There will be figures on screen.
Those figures will move.
There will be some sound effects.
There will be some dialogue.
There will also be some things happening.
There will be something happening that will make it obvious that this is the Mass Effect Universe.
With my expectations being this vague, will I still be dissapointing.

If you have ever seen "An Evening With Kevin Smith" he will tell you what writing a script for Superman Returns with Jon Peters was like.
I won't link it because it probably would violate forum rules. So do a YouTube search for "Kevin Smith Superman"

Honestly, I don't really care; I can't recall any good movies based on video games, don't see any reason this would change with a mass effect movie.

It's time to rethink. It's time for an original screenplay. Hopefully, Legendary pictures and BioWare go back to the drawing board and come up with an original movie script i.e. Anderson during the contact wars with obvious trilogy potential (First contact wars, Revelation, Skylian Blitz).
Something that requires absolutely no prior knowledge of the games - foremostly because it would be something new for fans and the general public alike... hopefully a completely different take on the universe more suited to a linear format.
Because nobody here wants BioWare to basically cannonize the shepard trilogy - that would be an even bigger mistake than the original ending.
A film or tv adaptation of the original trilogy will never capture the same magic e.g. Mordin, Legion, Wrex with different voice actors and bad cgi.
And above all we don't want some no-name screenwriter with a peace of crap like Thor in his back-catalog thrashing it out in less than six months, especially given the complexities involved with reworking the original Mass Effect material... this isn't Chronicles of Riddock or Mario Bros. were talking about here. Here we see another prime example of why vg-movies suck in general... the big studios' contempt for the material and the audience.
The best screen-writers, directors and producers never get attached to video game movies which is why they are all such horrible schlock b-movies. Until this changes and we get actual talent onboard it's probably for the best that video-games stick to the small screen.

Shepard enters the Citadel to talk to Harkin in the wards. You can hear a female krogan rapping in the distance.
There we go. Sorted.

Sci-FI has gotten teribble the last few years. S***ty movies, bad special effects, and playing movies that aren't even sci-fi related.

They're given a friggin' universe handed to them on a silver platter. The hard stuff is done. If they can't turn that around and make a quality flick from it, it's not cause of the video game....
They don't take it seriously. Don't want to invest in real talent for the project. So, they throw crap at it. Put crap in, you get crap out.
If you're going to do a ME film, EA. Do it right. Please don't embarrass us. Don't make it embarrassing for us to be fans of ME.
We'd like nothing better than to be able to go out and proselytize the good news that is ME to our friends and family.
Help us, help you. Help us. To Help you.
Lol.
