Now all that needs to happen is focus shifting from pointless boring multiplayer events/dlc and get back into expanding the story.... like the 'minor' love interests that got very little closure, omega retake wih Aria romance and the saving the Volus homeworld and Niftu Cal DLC!

If they were serious about a movie they wouldn't have ended the series so poorly. The fans will tell the non-fans and the movie will bomb.

Please god let it be canceled because I have a feeling its going to end up on the SciFi channel.
Sci-FI has gotten teribble the last few years. S***ty movies, bad special effects, and playing movies that aren't even sci-fi related.
It's Syfi these days. It also includes a lot of non science fiction too.

It really wasn't too long ago that comic book movies were in the exact same "guaranteed to suck" hole that video game movies are in now. The problem with VG movies is the same as it was with comic movies back then - the people making them don't respect the medium and thus the films aren't taken seriously. So they get no budget, terrible directors and B-list (at best) actors.
Take the film seriously and I could see Mass Effect doing for VG movies what films like Spiderman, Ironman, etc. have done for comic movies.
(And because people tend to misinterpret everything I say on these forums, I am not saying comic movies suck - I love comic movies. If all you pull away from my post is "comic book movies suck" you are seriously not reading closely enough.)

Well I seem to be in the minority here, but I personally think ME could be made into a great movie.

At any rate, Raoul Julia wants to talk to you.

The Deadpool movie has been in production for over 6 years by now. Every time Ryan Reynolds has an interview, he will keep saying "Yes, I will do this first, then I'll do DP. I love the script. It's awesome" until hell frozen. We will never see a DP movie, but FOX will still convince everyone that they are working on it.
To cut it short: the ME Movie could be in production for the rest of our lifes, without being cancelled or confirmed.

Not that I didnt see this coming, anytime they announce a game-movie to be made I keep my expectations at an all time low. Even lower than I did with the EC, because game-movies never see the light of day. >:|

I think Deus Ex Human Revolution has the potential to be the videogame world Batman Begins, finally showing Hollywood how to make millions with a VG property and succeeding where the high budget Disney's Prince of Persia failed.

Or is this really all just speculating from the author writing "so what's the hold up" Because they don't have real info to report on at all.

Still nothing in this story worth reading, no information other than "script is done." So where's the big, 'it's canceled/put on permanent hiatus' stuff anyhow?

Read my previous post. Movies like this one often hits production limbo. There's no way to know if Mass Effect will still be in production, with a news every 2 or 3 months, for the rest of our lifes, or if they'll start shooting next year. Just stop waiting for it until they have a release date, because it's pointless.

So you don't know the answer either and are just speculating as well?

Well, not exactly. I'm just saying that it's okay to specualate, but it's pointless to actually wait for something until we have a release date. Without a release date, movies, even with completed scripts, are just ideas floating around the head of the producers. We cannot know when a suit or two will decide to actually start the project... actually, like Kotaku says, the possibility of a script becoming a movie are 0.3%
Not much to speculate on.
