You aren't obligated to report them, but you should let them know that over a thousand people were banned in the last wave for it. It is a serious problem, and if you are playing with them multiple times while they glitch, you could very well get in trouble for constant affiliation.

My advise is to not play with them if they do the glitch, and report them. yes, they are your friends. And yes they are exploiting the system to an unfair advantage.

yah but theyre my irl friends and i would feel like a dick if i did that and also i dont play with them when they glitch

They deserve to be banned from xbox as a whole otherwise they will just do it on the next game they move on to after they get banned from this one.

Don't doubt that the missile glitchers got the Unwavering achievement while they were screwing up gold before platinum came out....so let's at least reset their gamerscore too.

yah one of them i know he real names matt he actually got the achievement from insanity but i agree with you about the gamerscore thing but i mean does the banning ban you from all of xbox live

Nah just Mass Effect 3.

So let me get this straight..

1). BioWare bans them from ME3
2). Glitcher buys new ME3 copy do glitch again
3). ???
4). Profit!

Sounds reasonable and possibly profitable on their end. =]

pretty close but what get banned is your xbox not the game. so they would just have to buy a new xbox and put the same mass effect game in. i think anyways.

Anyone with half a brain can tell when a cheater is present in a lobby. On that notion I think missile glitch lobby searchers should also get banned. Yeah, you, the guy going platinum game to platinum game searching for missile glitchers to leech off of. Missile glitch leecher-the newest scum on MP.

Fair. You're cheating and ruining the game for everyone else.

If you don't wanna be banned, don't do it, or associate with scum who do.

Do you think they should lift the missle glichers ban once they fix the issue?

I think they(missile glitchers) should just be banned UNTIL Bioware patches the glitch, its Bioware's fault the glitch exists in the first place, it has been known about for weeks and nothing has been done about it except for handing out bans. Just patch the damn glitch already, I'm not a coder or anything, but in most other online games whenever a potentially game-breaking glitch like this occurs it's usually patched within a week or two, so what is taking so long?

Just say you aren't going to play with them as long as the glitch. Your in danger of being banned by association.

Glitching is bad, mmkay?

Removed. Realized giving glitchers ideas to circumvent bannings is a bad idea.

Great... banning by association. This is *quickly becoming a witch hunt.

Ban them, seriously. It's driving me nuts. Sometimes I want to do Platinum for the challenge of working with people and being able to improvise. Then I get in a lobby with Missile Glitchers who brag about how it's so easy for them to get PSPs, while I work my butt off.

Ban them all.

Siding with them is like saying they should be able to unlock everything at max level.

Honestly I thinks its a bit harsh. Why not just a ban until the glitch is fixed?

i have friends who do the glitch on xbox and i don't want to see them get banned i tell them that they will get banned for doing it but they thinks its like cod where they just dont care do you guys think its harsh they are banning players for using a glitch and not hacking

edit* i don't do it with them because i like to play fairly and i have reported every missle glitch who isnt my irl friend

Yeah it is a bit too much for a Player Vs. Computer type game. If it was a COD game yeah it's a great punishement.

If the bans are ever lifted they either:
A: Need their manifests reset to before they started cheating
or
B: Need their multiplayer progress completely wiped.

It doesn't punish them if they get to keep the crap they got through the missile glitch.

I think it is harsh. Many people doing the glitch don't even know it is a bannable offense. They should receive a warning. If they keep doing it after the warning, ban them.

Also, I think Bioware should include an in-game notification like the notifications we get for the weekend operations letting people know that they can get banned.

So taking away online play that they paid for for weeks or even months isn't a punnishment? I always though being grounded or locked in prison for a while was considered punnishment even though they didn't loose anything besides irreplacible time.

How long has this glitch pestered the game?
2 months?
Bioware has even released another glitchable weapon (the Acolyte)

I blame glitchers and Bioware in the same way
I even received a mail from Bioware for reporting glitchers with thanks
Glitchers abuse
Bioware loses money because of their faults
We honest players are forced to be spies to not be banned, we don't enjoy the game, and we lose our consumables/stuff

We honest players get the short end of the stick, that sucks
At least they could give an n7 pack for every sucesful glitcher we report
That would clean the glitchers out of the game in a week and would finally do honour to honest people

You really want this to be a witch hunt? Tell the town your neighbor is a witch to get their land. Instead, taddle on potential glitchers to get a pack. Wonderful. There will be far more reports than glitchers, I can assure that. I can also see people specifically making accounts to have them glitch, then report that account. No. Just a plain BAD idea.

Harsh. Though I'm one of the very few that think so, apparently. If it was a competitive game, I'd totally understand it. But its co-op. I never had a match with a glitcher before, so I can't speak out of experience on the matter. All the platinum matches I've been in (just a few) didn't have anyone glitching. Though maybe that would had been preferred since instead I got stuck in teams that had people leaving after dying in wave one. "Ffff this is too hard bye."

Though I'd probably leave if I encountered a glitcher (depending on what consumables I'd be basically wasting by doing so) simply out of the fear of being banned for being in a match with them. If you want to glitch and get credits on platinum, fine, whatever, just do it in a private room why don't you?

The only way it would effect me is if I'm part of the team and thus risk being banned because of something they did. Granted I doubt that would be the case but still, pays to worry about these things just to be safe. So if they did it in private and get all the unlocks, how does this hurt me? It's a co op game, them having the best weapons and gear would actually help in matches, its not like I'm going to be fighting against them or something. I can understand BioWare not caring for it though since the packs are items you can purchase with real money.

I don't feel cheated when I have to work hard to get the equipment I need from packs but glitchers get them quicker and easier. Same reason why I don't feel cheated that someone could spend a lot of real money to skip the grinding and just get packs. Its co-op, why should I care what they have. If anything I should be able to get a sense of pride in knowing all my stuff is legitimently earned. If it was competitive, it'd be unfair because they would be glitching to have the superior advantage over you in a fight. I think too many people are looking at co-op with too much of a competitive mindset, honestly.

Hopefully they'll find a fix for this glitch and we can just put it behind us and not have to worry about such things. However, removing the guns required for this glitch, as some have suggested, would be horrible. It'd be taking away from everyone because of what some glitchers did. They glitch so we lose rights to use certain weapons because of it? That wouldn't be very cool. I like my Krysae - it makes me have fond memories of Fallout 3. Boom, meaty chunks everywhere.

Also, to the original poster, I would tell your friends the risks of banning for it are very real and BioWare have banwaves all the time. That being said, If I were in their shoes I would see it as a very jerkish thing to do if you reported them directly. A real life friend just reports you for something so trival and gets you banned from a game? Come on people, its not like hiding them for murder. Not aiding and abetting a fugitive here. You don't have to approve of what they're doing, and probably best if you don't play with them if they're going to glitch because it can get you into trouble. But reporting your supposed pals over something like this? Jeeze, friendship means nothing when it comes to a cooperative video game? Some people take this way too seriously.

Honestly, if EA is banning them anyways, are they losing any money from people glitching either? They obviously aren't going to be buying anything for ME3 if they can't play it.

It's fair, but it isn't the best way to deal with the problem while waiting for a fix, IMO.
