Okay, now to the issue I have been having. Similar to other people, I have had the fade to black loading... imagery, only mine happens on the Deep Roads Expedition Quest, after the (SPOILERS: fight with the rock abomination demon), right before the big open chasm past the pathway after it, with the reddish pillars. It has done this multiple times, even after downloading patch v1.04. When the fade to black happens, the game will soon after freeze and I will either have to bring up the task manager to exit and have the game finish the crash or it will eventually crash on its own. The middle of the screen will have the mouse go from the larger pointer in the game to the normal white pinter in the middle of the screen, where the "Dragon Age 2 has stopped working" box would appear.
From diving into the forums the only workaround I have seen is the hitting of the [ESC] button once the fade to black and loading... begins, but it has not fixed the issue at all; I have even tried tapping the button or just hitting it once, the most it has done has taken me out of the game screen completely. I have tried restarting my computer and the only other I dea I have thought of is uninstalling and reinstalling it (again. I already had an issue with a bad install where the game did not install correctly so I had to spend four hours to install it again when I first purchased the game). I have also tried tweeking my graphics and video setting (even moving everything to lowest graphics setting and an going to direct x9), but that did not work either. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also, I have not added any mods to the game, the only additions have been the official patches (I don't even have any dlc installed).
