There's a point - it could have. Though that's kind of the point of "show, don't tell" right? - They're not putting stuff out there that's far from the direction they're taking. Plus even if they did, that's too big a map to just shrink down to Orlais - so I think we'll see some variety. Image IPB

Given that all Orlesians (fine, most.) have been shown as pompous twits who wouldn't know decency or subtlety (regarding clothing) if it came up and smacked them upside the head, my chances of being sympathetic towards Orlais are slim.

I happen to love Fereldan, oddly, given my Warden didn't have the best time of it there. At least they have been shown as hard-working, nice people, with some really delectable accents (voices?)

We shall see, however. :)

Fereldan is based on england and since i'm British i support them :)

although like Maclimes said i doudt DA3 will just have "one war" whlist ofcouse the templar Vs Mages Vs chanty war will be the biggest there will porbably be smaller ones like the Orlais civil war and then fereldan invading Orlais mini wars going on at the same time...

Depends. If we're neutral in the conflict probably Ferelden. Orlais is bad for Thedas in general.

If this scenario is going to be it don't know yet what side I'll be on in my first playthrough....

It will all depend on how the story will unfold and what the main theme is going to be. Orlais for me is still unknown territory as the only thing I know about it is from wiki.

As I usually do more than one playthrough, if I like a game, will take both sides to see and experience the differences.

Ferelden and Orlais are both part of Thedas and have their interesting lore.  Want to get the most out of the game if things are played out differently depending on which side you choose.

Every side will have their pros and cons and would want to get to know them all Image IPB.

Leliana was born in Orlais, but her mother was Fereldan, and so she considers herself such as well.

 

I considered that, but if she considers herself Fereldan, than who am I to argue?;)
And even if you still consider her *shudders* Orlesian, that's a sample size of one. Not very useful.
Maybe all of the nice Orlesians stay in Orlais, and so we have only met the rich, entitled jerks?

Both Rhys and Evangeline from Asunder are Orlesians and they're pretty cool.

If Leliana doesn't count because she was born in Ferelden, then Aveline counts as a nice Orlesian because she was born in Orlais.

I can't speak as far as Asunder goes, as I never read it. DA2, while not terrible, did not entice me to go and read the book like DAO did for Stolen Throne and The Calling.

Leliana= Born in Orlais, but considers herself Fereldan
Aveline= Also born in Orlais, but moved to Fereldan as a child, speaks with Fereldan accent, and served in the Fereldan Military.

If anything, this points to the notion that all good Orlesians wish they were Fereldans, which says a lot. B)
