I mean hell, Cerberus really didn't play a huge part in ME1 anyway
So what's the deal

But yeah, her Cerberus hatred went way too far. If you shoot her on the coup mission she'll sometimes even say she hopes the Reapers will send you to hell.

She's pretty overtly racist in the first game.

She only states that humanity should not cater to alien interests before their own, as aliens will surely cater to their interests before humans.
Kinda the same way nations work on Earth, really. How alarmingly racist...

This is why Ashley's reaction to Cerberus pisses me off. Cerberus represents everything Ashley believes in, and yet she is intent on hating the organization even before they went completely brain dead.

No. She thinks humanity should come first because the other races will do the exact same thing (look after themselves).

Ashley is more xenophobic than racist. She sees aliens as different than humans, but doesn't inherently wish them or ill. When Ashley meets members of Terra Firma, she even points out she doesn't approve of their hostility towards aliens. She just thinks humans need to find their own place in the galaxy.

Cerberus is also responsible for some pretty atrocious terrorist acts.
Ashley believes in the Alliance and that humanity should find their own place through that. Not by committing atrocities.
Her hate for Cerberus, killing alliance personnel, is pretty understandable considering her family history.

Did you even had conversations with her or are you just basing your argument on one remark of her?RyanSoup wrote...

Because if you talked to her you would know that she is not a racist. She hates even the Terra Firma Party because they have a lot of racist people in there.

I can only say bad writing especially in ME2 when you meet her in Horizon...In ME3 though i agree she was kinda annoying when she kept on saying i don't trust you for working for Cerberus a lot of times.

In ME1 she was overly aggressive and full of prejudices (ok, not racist, but still she'd ask you to lock up Wrex & Garrus because she didn't like them lounging about in the garage).
Then, on ME3, she's on thorazine even more than Kaidan O_O
Meh, i never really liked her. The only time i actually used her was when my Adept in ME1 needed some meat shielding.
That same Adept even romanced her but that was just because Tali was still unavailable.

Ha. I did exactly the same thing, for the exact same reasons

2.) Call Ashley out on her BS on Horizon
3.) Put her down like a dog during the coup
4.) Lol when she tells you she hopes the Reapers send you to hell
????
5.) Profit!
Also inb4 waifu war.

And by the way, Cerberus are terrosrists. Even if they didn't play a big part in ME1, they still did some nasty things. The Alliance needed to handle with them more than enough times. Hell, Alliance even thought Horizon was going to get hit by Cerberus. Ashley did nothing on Mars that any rational person with a brain won't do. Shepard did nothing to make Ashley believe s/he's the same person she once knew. For all Ashley knows, Shepard is still a terrorist, working with Cerberus or not.

That's toward the end of the game, bro. You're cherry picking examples that don't fit. She's pretty open about it early on in the game

"Look, if you're fighting a bear, and your only way to survive is to sic your dog at it and run, you'll do it. As much as you love your dog it isn't human. It's not racism, not really. Members of their species will always be more important to them than humans are."
This is a terrible metaphor if you're trying not to make yourself seem racist. Comparing other species to that of a dog doesn't fit the definition of racist?

I kinda hate how Ashley brings up Cerberus. Like give it a rest. You didn't come with me in Mass Effect 2, I went back to the alliance after the events of Mass Effect 2 and was basically put on house arrest and now I'm back in Mass Effect 3 fighting the good fight and she's still skeptical of me and Cerberus? WTF.
And this is why killing her was so satisfying.

I still saved her on Virmire a couple of times, because I do not play favourites when it comes to my crew, and it made sense in terms of the story in those particular playthroughs.
But yeah, not a fan. Even her taste in poetry is debatable.

Ashley, a tool? Um, no. The fact she didn't join Shepard and stayed loyal to her principles kind of shows she's not one.

The Migrant Fleet was sabotaged by Cerberus, but Tali still gives Shepard a chance. Ashley's a tool because she sticks with the Alliance, despite her experiences with Shepard, to the point that she's manipulated into aiding Udina in an attempt to stage a coup.

Racism is the belief that one race is superior to another.

Actually she compared humanity to the dog. And the council to the person ditching the dog.
