I'd say concussive shot is better. You can control the time of firing and the trajectory. For what it does, concussive shot is a pretty good power, great quick-fire staggering power. My main problem with it is that it shares a cooldown with adrenaline rush and marksman/proximity mine on the human and turian soldier respectively. So the power itself doesn't really have any problems, it's more a lack of synergy with the other skills of the classes that have it.


I'm on my iPhone so maybe I'm misunderstanding, but better than Multi-frag??

MF is major AOE destruction *and* it staggers.

Yeah I don't get all the anti ML tone. Just think of it as an extra tool to destroy. A tool that that you don't have to worry about targeting and shooting yourself. Right now as an experiment, I am running my destroyer with the Falcon X and Graal X with the ML. With grenade II gear attached, it melts enemies...

What lie? The ML fires off very quickly if you bother to pay attention, it has to "Lock on" which means you need to glance at someone with you reticule for a split second. Much like those damned Rocket troopers it doesnt follow it's own timing rules, stop accusing people of lying just because you lack comprehension or experience

Heck, I'm not that good a player, and I rarely run out of ammo with one low-ammo gun like the Talon or Mattock even on gold. Thermal clip packs are mostly for hack objectives. Quite frankly, if you get that locked down, your team really can't have played very well.

1st wave? No this was later on like 6th wave, i use the ammo packs for refilling of ammo during prolonged firefights OR when i need an emergency grenade (Which miss Phantoms point blank half the time)
The Harrier and Hornet were my guns and they dry up quickly when you are chewing through Marauders and brutes
Also i play with randoms so sometimes i get good teams and sometimes....

The missile launcher is wasted space.

There are 2 problems with your description

i) Running out of ammo on BOTH guns without even bothering to go to the ammo box smacks of utterly poor forward planning. You cannot solo anything higher than bronze like that.

ii) All factions have cover busters and will not allow you to sit there quietly to shoot at them. They will come to you and engage you. Hunters, phantoms even husks. They also come in groups in a solo situation. Your 3.92 second refire rate for your missile launcher will not stagger them all and you will be forced to move (with empty weapons). Then you will die to multiple mooks firing at you

What? When I say Solo i mean it was my only offensive means, not i won plat alone. When the husks swarm or the hunters pop up you cant run to get ammo beause they will gun you down. So you have to stay there until yu are ammo-less resulting in death...unless you have the ML


So you are saying that your ML was your ONLY weapon for long stretches of time? Then you were carried. Possibilities include one or more of the following
i) You did not think ahead to replenish ammo when the group moved to the ammo box
ii) Your shot connection rate was horrendous, ie you were shooting the wall more than the enemy
iii) Your teammates used weapons with plenty of ammo while BOTH your weapons were low ammo types
iv) You were incapable of reaching the ammo box without the group

Then we have the interesting conclusion. You played 1 match like that and decided to CONTINUE having BOTH weapons as low ammo weapons.

You didnt even read what i wrote, 
There.Was.No.Time.To.Grab.Ammo.Because.Of.High.Enemy.Count
If you leap out of cover you get mowed down


Again, you are just implying you were carried and like to continue being carried since you feel the ML's value is high due to having infinite ammo which implies you will have many many more of such situations. Hence implying you like to continue getting carried. 

If a person is carried regularly, of course any power is wonderful since you reply on others in the first place.

Funnily enough, you're also saying your group chose a location without access to an ammo box to camp which is in itself hilarious.

Totally...we should have sat around that box when the brutes and banshees were piling onto us...smart tactics there

And to answer the topic: Activate devastator mode -> Shoot things until they die -> Win. As simple as that.

No fitness, it is not required unless yu want to stand in the open all the time

Sounds to me like you need to work on moving around the map instead of letting the enemy come to you. It's one thing to get bogged down on wave 6+, but it should just not be a problem to keep your weapon stocked before wave 6 at the very least.

I have had a great deal of success with the ML, actually, and it all boils down to knowing when to toggle.  Behind cover looking out on an open expanse, toggle on.  In a tight space or lacking in cover while receiving a great deal of fire, toggle off.  Yes, it's very simple.  And yes, it does add extra oomph to one's offensive punch, especially as averaged over the length of a game.

In case you were unaware the Devastator is a Defensive class, it is slow and tanky so it is better for defense. I play better on defense. Now if i were a Shadow or Vanguard then i would move all around the map but on gold you stick to your main strengths and mine (as well as my class's) is defense

Also lets compare this ability to Reave. Reave fully specced without gear does 145 dps on the asari justicar. It also staggers with every cast. Multiple casts stack the dps on top of itself. The recharge at 200% cooldown is 2.22 seconds.

145 * 2.6 = 377
Then the second casting at 2.2 for adds another 145 *.4
totalled to 435 damage at 2.6 seconds. Not as much as the fully tricked out geared out missile launcher. However at the next interval of 2.6 seconds the two reave castings will have done 1500 damage in comparison to ~1000 the missiles did.

All of this while Reave grants the user damage reduction, missile launcher conversely takes half your shields to accomplish its task.

Well i am a destroyer...not a fish-man. I dont have reave. Hey then let us do this math: Actual Missile Launcher (Equipment, not ability) vs Multi-frag=Use you missiles! Your logic is awesome. EVERYONE stop putting points into yur abilities and just use the missile!

You want to camp then you should think about your camp location. If you're camping in a location where you have to run through spawns to get to the ammo box and no one is a demolisher, well i can only say your camping technique "impresses" me greatly.

Also... A hornet... on a Destroyer.... "Impressive"!

You lied when you said you could shoot an ML shot after a first before being able to reload your harrier.

Missile delay = 2.6
Reload delay for harrier = 1.37

So BAREFACED LIE

End of story unless you mathmatically prove that 2.6 < 1.37

You want to camp then you should think about your camp location. If you're camping in a location where you have to run through spawns to get to the ammo box and no one is a demolisher, well i can only say your camping technique "impresses" me greatly.

And the alternative is? Get over-run here instead of moving there>? You are brilliant, lets ask them to only attack us if we sit HERE instead of THERE, hey will totally comply

I'd take it any day for free, but the points alone (that can be spent in other trees) make it not worth it. The shield penalty makes it a net negative IMO, even if you didn't have to spend points.

No. Squishy adepts are defensive classes. Destroyer is an offensive powerhouse that is fantastic at unloading highly accurate automatic fire into the enemy's face. At close range, if need be.

But even if a class is best played defensively does not mean it's best played immobile. It just means that you have to be more cautious and be aware of where to find cover.

Wave 6 and you can't reach ammo on Gold? I shudder to think what someone with your obviously advanced gaming skills might have been forced to do should you have been given an objective that takes you out of cover on that wave.

Oh, wait, you said you don't need to use cover and that is why your missile launcher works better than the rest of ours.

If you are going to troll, try not to contradict yourself repeatedly in the same post.
