Yes, combat in ME1 was pretty awful. The things that sucked, sucked hard and the things that were powerful were overpowered. There was no real balance.

Even with all the combat and inventory clunkiness, ME1 is just adorable and i wouldn't want it changed it in any way.So yeah, you can keep the crotch-level cover shooter mechanics.

Not a chance in hell.

I'd buy Mass Effect 3 again though if they put in the mechanics from Mass Effect 1.

Personally I enjoy the combat in Mass Effect 1 more than in 2 or 3. I liked how stats played as big a part as my ability to place a cross-hair and not once did I ever get stuck on an exposed wall in the middle of a fire-fight while trying to run to cover.

If the visuals were the *only* thing they updated, sure. However, I do
much prefer ME1 overall to the other two games (clunky inventory system
notwithstanding).

Going to have to agree wholeheartedly with those two.

ME3s graphics and ME2s mechanics, then maybe. defiantly not ME3s combat system, its actually worse than the originals

You can't just say that and not back it up.

ME3's combat was much better than ME2's. It built upon it, by expanding class capabilities. Added individualized mods for weapons and added a measure of strategy with the weapon weight by forcing players to choose between weapons and powers. It also allows players to play how they want from the get go. If you want to be a sniping Adept or a shotgun wielding Engineer you can have that.

You pretty much have no credibility if you think ME2 had the best combat system.

Thats all very well and good but the cover system has taken 3 steps in the wrong direction. If it wasn't for this recurring  annoyance I would agree its miles better than 2 however it just lets the gameplay to much. everything else im cool with

Goodness no, it wouldn't fit the design of Mass Effect 1.

It would be nice...but I doubt it would work properly.

Me1 is just fine as it is, still to this day. It is a take-your-time game, not a pushy combat game. Just like me2, taking the time to change certain upgrades ( be it weapons, powers, armor) for certain missions will improve the results. The right way to play these two is to take your time and not to rush it. Now a remake of me3 or me3.2 would be magic, that would make me spend more money( I can dream, can't ?!?)

Yes in a heartbeat. ME 1 had the best storyline but the worst gameplay.

Hell yes. I still have my copy of ME 1 though I sold ME 1 and ME 2 only to buy them again 3 months later and decided that maybe I should keep them

Yes. I like the roll crouch and the jump over ability. I like the weapon setup of ME3 over ME1 and ME2. I don't miss climbing mountains in a ground vehicle nor do I miss the hovercraft. I would love to have more flight vehicle control like the Shadowbroker DLC. I don't miss the prolonged scanning in ME2. I don't miss having to buy probes.

I like the mechanics of inventory management and moding of weapons way more in ME1 then in 2 or 3.

The only thing that I would like form ME3 is movement animation and dodge and some biotic powers.

ME1 storyline is rock solid (or was until ME3 revealed the Catalyst was on the Citadel the whole time) and ME1 combat is fine as built. Technically ME3 is amazing, and I have no complaints with its combat system. I like the ME2 storyline too, but its combat system is the weakest of the three. Would I buy ME1 with ME3 combat system? Yes, but I do like ME1 as it is...

90% yes, oh hell yes - the other 10% is that I love, love, loved the way the weapons worked in the original; building heat and cooling rather than ammo

yes if they updated the graphics as well and redid the godawful prefab sidequests (people rant about DA2's awful reuse of dungeons and crap yet people seem to ignore the fact ME1 also had that issue)

Hard for me to decide. ME1 was the first game I ever owned; all others were from the library or on a friends' computer.
