I don't get why people say the GPS doesn't require aiming.  The tracking system is only there to compensate for the projectile time that the rings of death have.  Therefore you are aiming it just like the wraith, claymore, or the carnifex.

Neither is playing a Sentinel or Soldier.

The only difference now is, weapons are actually capable of dealing damage, whereas on release, ME3 weapons were a complete waste of time and space.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a weapon that compete with biotics/powers, In gold and plat I do not think one could complete these levels using weapons only yet I know you can using the powers of the right character combo's as I have done it.

Wow, that is EXACTLY what me and my friends do on platinum when we just want to grind quick credits.  Sometimes we use three smashers and one reaver though.

Does not change the fact that you are required to aim precisely with vast majority of weapons. With powers you simply highlight the enemy and press a button. Though I do agree that random dodges suck.

I did not say power classes are EZ mode. I said that I think it is good that weapons are more effective.

In all seriousness, with the new characters and guns, you can use just 4 of them, but I still find that having 2 gunners and 2 BE machines makes for an easier platinum game. It gives versatility.

Well, with halfways decent aim, you'll hit enemies with these weapons with the same consistency as using powers. You might miss occasionally, but so do powers. 
Now, some of the other good wweapons are more difficult to use than powers, but are in turn, far more rewarding.

I'd say GI's, Destroyers, and even Demolishers are the top dogs right now. And all three of them are weapon based.

Geth Hunter Mode and Devastation Mode are extremely potent when paired with Harriers, Typhoons, and many of the Shotguns.

Krentinels are still pretty good, too, since they get two heavies with no impact on CD's or powers either.

Tech Burst windows need to be widened, Cryo > Incin or Incin > Cryo should proc something without needing death to buff engineers.

Other classes need the AA treatment with primers and detonators getting a choice to proc powerful BE's.

AA BE's are still amazing, provided they are specced for it. Alot of the issue with BE's is on the people detonating them. They spec into more damage than more potent BE's, then detonate the primers BE's.

Short of AP mods and AA Ammo types paird on decent weapons, unless a team starts burning through rockets, powers/biotics are still very, very necessary to deal with the boss spam of platinum,.

Honestly , I can do more damage (get higher score) by using a pirhana on my shadow , and just using cloak for damage buff, then i ever could using SS and ES.

My friends and I were thinking of trying out this strategy as well.  I was a little worried that ammo might become an issue in some of the longer waves, my typhoon eats ammo so fast that even two supply pylons might not be enough to keep me stocked.  But if it works for you perhaps we will try it!  Cheers!

It is fine.  Especially because Destroyers and Demolishers can easily take 2 decent weapons with them.

Harrier may not be one though since it eats through ammo very fast.

I think it is very bad for the game. There is no reason to have power based classes if they are less effective than weapon based classes.

Clearly some weapons are a bit too effective now, but the overall trend is good, as weapons and weapon based classes were laughable previously. Power, primarily BE's, were god, and a team detonating BE's on a Banshee could drop it in seconds on Gold, which was far too fast.

Heck, we may even see fixes this week to some of the weapons mentioned in this thread. Further, Platinum (apparently, as I haven't bothered with it) is a serious letdown and nothing more then mixed heavy unity spam, which is bound to skew perception of abilities.

Just because they're less effective, doesn't mean they're bad. Having at least 2 biotics in no way hinders a team.
