OK, I wouldn't really do this again afternhaving tested that it works, but...
So I had got an Atlas down to one bar on gold, and was about to kill it, when a teammate - who had played no part in dealing with the Atlas so far - took it down with his Hurricane. This annoyed me. So for the rest of the round I switched to my Geth SMG for all Atlases, and got all the kills despite not doing much damage. Childish I know and I am vaguely ashamed of it. Rate of fire is why it works - having a high ROF weapon makes it a lot more likely that you will take the final sliver of health even though you aren't doing nearly as much DPS as, say, a Claymore.
This, then, is the reason for the particle rifle. Great for getting credit for kills - less good for the actual killing...
How to get credit for killing bosses on gold

It's probably a matter of pride for you but it's a co-op game and all credit is shared so why even bother complaining about the score at the end of the day; as long as you don't get carried by the team or carry the team by yourself, should it really matter?

Did the Atlas die?

Did you get to complete objective in wave 10?

Kills only get you ~10% of their entire point worth. You can shoot one GPSMG bullet at an atlas and get like 150 points.

Thanks for this info. I rage hard whenever someone steals a kill. I report them for griefing, submit a negative player review, block them, and then come to the forums to complain about it.

The only justification for actively "Kill-Stealing" is if you are using a Krogan or a Vorcha in which getting the kill is your life line and if people are paying attention to the needs of the team they shouldn't complain if you "Steal their Kills."

Yes. And yes, I agree, it is a co-op game, and I shouldn't be so childish. Really I was just making a point about how high ROF weapons get 'too much' credit. If there is such a thing.

I kill steal on accident. Really. When I'm playing a techie or adept, I usually spam "all the things" with something and do not pay attention unless it is a Vorcha or Batarian with his long "wind-up" melee. I was cursed horribly yesterday for dropping into a match where a Fury was busy killing "all the things" and I invariably interrupted this by killing stuff too.
The thing is.....if you start cursing me I have this horrible habit of doubling down on doing stuff you don't like.
Sorry OP....reminded me of yesterday. At any rate....no such thing as kill stealing and the Scoreboard doesn't help in a co-op game. It should be all medals or something.

You don't get any credits for that.
There is only one score that gets you credits.
The little clock at the top right of a mission summary screen.

If someone complains about kill stealing I try even harder to skill steal. I'll follow them around just steal their kills.

You left out the most important part where you make OFFICIAL PETITIONs to nerf the class and gun they were using.

OP = honest about something that I wager 95% of the people on here have felt at one time or another even if they are 'avowed' team players that don't care about score.
