After you come back from the Circle and free Conner from the demon, you are giving the quest to go after the Urn? My question is, cause i'm to chicken to try it out, how much time do you actually have? I mean, if I say went off to Orzimmar instead, would the Erl die? I really don't want to do all of that then come back from the Deep Roads and find the guy dead and have to reload from a back up save.

As cool as that would be, you can't really do anything wrong in this game.

He'll live no matter what.

I should know that too, but I don't want to take any chances. I just want Oggy around for much longer then i've had him previously.

You don't have any time limit, as far as I'm concerned.

Ehh... couldn't someone make a mod where you can toss in a fireball or something in his bedroom and make mr. Awesome MacAwesome the new Arl? The oldie is annoying, and it's hard to kill too! :P

On my first playthrough, I finished everything except the Circle before going after the Urn. Then I did the same on another playthrough, but finished the Circle as well. So, no, there is no time limit.

Everything happens at the speed of plot. ESPECIALLY in Redcliffe, such that I have vague feelings of discontent about it, but only vague ones.
