Thank you so much, Bioware. Nobody's using this gun already, and now you make sure nobody would even think about touching it. Bravo!

^This^ a million times.

Isn't the Krysae one of the glitch guns, or used to be?

I didn't like it before, but I was really looking forward to trying it on my Destroyer once they fixed the glitch. I didn't want to get kicked out of glitch fear before. Oh wait, now there is no point.

bioware you might as well stop releasing new guns that look half-good if in the end you are going to keep reducing them to **** anyway.

I thought we had enough water pistols already, but some people seems to need even more.
Way to go with new platinum mode

I feel I shouldn't immediately judge the impact of the ROF nerf or recoil nerf on paper, since I'm not sure how the recoil will translate to affecting hit rates or how the ROF nerf will affect ROF for those using the Krysae's "quick fire" feature. I'll have to wait until I get to actually play with it to make any hard judgments.

However, the Krysae never really should have had amazing damage. It's probably the most reliable crowd control weapon in the game and effortlessly stunlocks hunters, phantoms, et cetera.  It also is incredible at applying ammo effects for tech bursts.

Scorpion does the same (at level X). In fact it is my weapon of choice for farm runs against geth on platinum. Has a larger clip than a Krysae, faster RoF (per clip), applies effects, and stunlocks anything dumb enough to wander too close to the rounds. Not to mention it can take out multiple enemies in a like fashion. Does that need a nerf, too, now?

Dunno really I don't use it.
BTW have people noticed a strange trend that even if BW nerfs something by 1% people will declare the gun dead and never use it again?

It wasn't a "1%" drop, and this nerf is on top of a previous nerf, and the gun was already underused.

Lore is probably not what Feneckus was talking about. The Krysae is a rare while the Black Widow is an ultra-rare... the latter should be the best between the two.

Piranha and reegar are better then the wraith despite beeing rare weapons.

Used the character build to make some calculation.
Destroyer + Krysae before nerf:
1350 damages per shot + 4 shots a clip + .86 second a shot

Maybe a little too powerful for an AOE weapon.

It just seems weird to me that a sniper rifle that fires EXPLOSIVE rounds can be called OP'd.  It makes no sense.  If the Valiant, Black Widow, or Widow fired flak jacket rounds I bet there wouldn't be a single call for a nerf.  I honestly believe the Krysae gets so much heat because it was better than the aforementioned sniper rifles, and extreme users of those sniper rifles don't want any other sniper rifle being more powerful than their beloved ones.

If someone were shot in the chest with a sniper rifle that fired explosive rounds, they're dead. And so are the ppl in their immediate vincity.  That's how explosive rounds work.  Players complained about the Krysae because it did exactly what it was suppose to do.

The Krysae should have been ultra-rare.

Also, I do not use the Krysae.  Merely an observation.

Just played used it post nerf. So disappointed in BioWare, I can understand the Damage reduction but the RoF? Come on... and the recoil is a joke now, double shot leaves you looking at the ceiling.

Getting fed up with BSN. Too many console whiners on here demanding nerf/buff every other thread. I don't use the Krysae, but before this nerf, it was no longer over powered. Now, that gun is a joke. I hardly ever see it in a game. I suspect they nerfed it because they couldn't completely fix the missile glitch correctly for the Krysae so they nerfed it bad so glitchers would find it unattractive. Anyway, I don't really care. These kids want all guns to be equal. I hope they don't be able to push Bioware into ruining multiplayer. They'll probably demand better auto aim on their kiddie consoles.

LOL, when I posted the first recorded solo of Platinum the day it was released using the Krysae, I got a number of responses about how it must have been "easy mode" since I used the Krysae on an Infiltrator. When the Krysae gets a nerf though... suddenly I see dozens of posters saying that the Krysae Infiltrator was already weak and is now just terrible.

I haven't used it for a long time, doesn't fit my style. It's just lame that I have to play with same weapons and same builds to be effective on gold and ofc platinum. For example, what would you substitute Harrier with? There are so few good guns and constant nerfs kill all the fun this game has; imo

Obviously Bioware hates the idea of Sniper infiltrators.

Gonna say hello to my Reegar and Claymore, it seems... was fun being a sniper while it lasted though.

This nerf was more about how well it synergized with the Destroyer. Magazine size increase, RoF buff and accuracy buff... craziness.

And that's also wrong. the Piranha should be an ultra-rare if we rank them by effectiveness. Not sure about the Reegar, and the Wraith is good enough. Should have a RoF bonus, but that's pretty much it.

Now there's NO good sniper rifles with any viability outside of silver. Nice.

I hate the Krysae with a passion because I use good sniper rifles that are viable on Gold/Platinum. It's like Shockwave: you line up that perfect shot only to have your target staggered out of view, but not necessarily dead.

The BW, Valiant, Indra, old-school Widow, and others have been used to great effect on Gold and Platinum, and I believe this won't change that. The Krysae is less a sniper rifle and more a rocket launcher. It was boring as all get out.

That said, I don't know that it needed nerfs across the board like that. Keeping the damage up and slowing the rate of fire might have been fine. Leaving the rate of fire and nerfing the damage little might have been fine as well. Regardless, I'm not a big fan of nerfing and I still chalk this one up in the win column.

I've a wide smile as I recall some Krysae-fanboys were posting dumb pics like "Krysae has already been nerfed" when somebody made a valid point about this weapon still being OP when compared to the rest of it's class.

Well... in your face fanboys :police:

Good job Bioware!

Again with the nerf on the krysae? Geez, it was fun to screw around with once in awhile, not my weapon of choice, but it was average after the first nerf. RIP Krysae.

LOL....I just posted in another thread that it was all your fault because of that first platinum match.  The developers probably hated that gun after you did the "impossible" with that gun.  It's all your fault GP.  :P

But they should not be balancing a single weapon around one specific character. How is that balancing?

Every other class/character takes a huge hit.

I find it funny that people are complaining about a gun that's "rarely" used. Well, if it's no longer used, why complain?

Now, if we can get the speed run teams to post some pihrana videos and some more grenade videos. That would be sweet.

The only thing they could do better is to remove it entirely from the game. It's an awful, badly designed weapon for people not willing to actually learn to play. I'm glad it got nerfed, it is well deserved. Hallelujah!

So it's about being spiteful to others, not balancing the game. Good to know.
