Thoughts On The Krysae Nerf?

So be it, I now join the masses: Not much purpose/need for this weapon anymore.

But they should not be balancing a single weapon around one specific character. How is that balancing?Haloburner wrote...
This nerf was more about how well it synergized with the Destroyer. Magazine size increase, RoF buff and accuracy buff... craziness.SinerAthin wrote...
Obviously Bioware hates the idea of Sniper infiltrators.
Gonna say hello to my Reegar and Claymore, it seems... was fun being a sniper while it lasted though.
Every other class/character takes a huge hit.

Scorpion does the same (at level X). In fact it is my weapon of choice for farm runs against geth on platinum. Has a larger clip than a Krysae, faster RoF (per clip), applies effects, and stunlocks anything dumb enough to wander too close to the rounds. Not to mention it can take out multiple enemies in a like fashion. Does that need a nerf, too, now?
You should have never let that thought be posted on here.
It's no secret to Bioware what their weapons can and cannot do. The scorpion is a niche weapon though and will probably escape a serious beating from the nerfbat. It just isn't that great as an all around weapon. For all around best weapon in the game I'd pick the GPS. It still can kick some serious booty, apply ammo effects, and is one of the few guns I've seen that will actually stun a banshee. It isn't extremely heavy and can be used by any class as well.

LOL, when I posted the first recorded solo of Platinum the day it was released using the Krysae, I got a number of responses about how it must have been "easy mode" since I used the Krysae on an Infiltrator. When the Krysae gets a nerf though... suddenly I see dozens of posters saying that the Krysae Infiltrator was already weak and is now just terrible.
LOL....I just posted in another thread that it was all your fault because of that first platinum match. The developers probably hated that gun after you did the "impossible" with that gun. It's all your fault GP.
Heh, maybe. I did carry a guy who said he never played multiplayer before through Platinum at Comicon with it right in front of the lead combat designer. Then messaged him a video of my first go at a solo run with it right when Platinum was released. >_>
It just seems a bit strange to me. One moment every time I used a Krysae some people would downplay my performance by making comments about how I was using an overpowered weapon (including when I was using it on Engineers, not Infiltrators), then it gets a nerf and everyone is going on about how it wasn't useful before, nobody would use it, et cetera. <_<
And then I see comments with people complaining about BW not making changes that the community wants or needs, and I have to wonder how they're supposed to know what this community wants. You guys don't stay on-message and flip flop all over the place.

No, it is not. Having a very powerful, very easy to use weapon is really bad for game balance. But I won't lie, I am satisfied with the nerf, -especially- that Krysae nerf threads weren't showing up anymore. Now Krysae fans have noone to blame.Omega2079 wrote...

The only thing they could do better is to remove it entirely from the game. It's an awful, badly designed weapon for people not willing to actually learn to play. I'm glad it got nerfed, it is well deserved. Hallelujah!
So it's about being spiteful to others, not balancing the game. Good to know.

Tactical Cloak was always more of a balance problem than the Krysae.

But I think what I didn't like about it wasn't the direct power so much as the fact it would still do reasonable to high damage if you missed and hit nearby scenery, or accidentally came close to an invisible enemy. I know that was sort-of the point of the gun, but...

Dunno really I don't use it.
BTW have people noticed a strange trend that even if BW nerfs something by 1% people will declare the gun dead and never use it again?
That is not true. Though i agree that there have been more buffs than nerfs overall...the buffs made by bioware make u go "meh"

I think that was more of a balance since Infiltrators were the jack-of-all-trades.

However, I believe it should have been Infiltrator-specific, or at least less severe for the other classes (possibly bar Soldier).

Your earlier post makes it seem that way. Most of the weapons are easy to use. Performing well with them is another story, which typical crysae users have never been good at anyways.

I never used it either, so I'll just observe peoples reactions.
I agree.
The weekly balance changes should be renamed to "weekly kowtowing to whiners".
This change has p****d me off more than anything Bioware has done in the past. I'm so angry I think it's going to turn me into a complete jerk in matches.
