I just need an answer for one question: is it possible to continue romancing Leliana if you break up with her?

Allow me to explain. On my second playthrough, I decided right from the start that I would romance Leliana, so naturally I was all nice to her and showered her with gifts, etc. This lead to the romance with her starting before I got a chance to ask her about bards, and so now I can no longer ask her about her past, which means I cannot complete or even start her personal quest.

Having read other threads about Leliana's romance, I'm aware this is a known bug and that the only solution is to break up with her, after which I can ask her about bards, which in turn will make the random encounter with the bandits available again. What I haven't been able to find is confirmation that the romance with her can be continued after finishing her personal quest.

So can anyone confirm this? I already tried breaking up with her which lowered her approval by 22 points (from +100), but I'm pretty sure I can get those back by doing her quest and giving her a few gifts (still have her shoes and the second flower in my pack). However that won't help if the romance is still considered ended. I'd really like to keep the romance going since I already dumped both Alistari and Zevran for Leliana...

According to the "Missing Manual" website, it should work. This is the page on Leliana.

Patch 1.02a is supposed to fix this bug.

From the notes:

'Leliana's personal plot can now be completed if the player substantially increased her approval (through gifts) before talking to her.'

Of course you may not be playing with the PC version.
