I hate to say it, but this is like having unsatisfying sex.

Sex is like pizza. Even when it's bad it's pretty good.

Not always.

It's easier if you're a man.

Man I feel terrible. But not for that comment...

Ugh. What is going on...

oo oo I know this one...

Is it Aveline when you give her the Shield?

It's Morrigan; Aveline actually gets all angry when you get her the shield.

No, I've had some truly bad pizza.

Well, there are other side effects to eating cold pizza besides it still tasting good. Enjoy the next forty-five minutes on the john! :D

It's not about pizza.

I think it's another bout of depression coming on.

Which is ****ing terrific.

So, I asked about this on twitter and said people wanted a reunion and this has hurt them.  I was told there was no interest in discussing it further and if I didn't  like it to move on.  I don't twitter much and only went there to ask why one dev said it was a sign of hope and another said Shepard's dead.

I do have the twitter post and it's on its way to a friend who may or may not be of some help with this.   Corporate owners of companies don't like their customers being told to F off.

I fully support efforts to get them to release more DLC.  Some have contacted Mike Gamble to ask about this and others have gone right to EA with complaints.

Someone seriously said that?

That's really...yeah...

I understand that, if this is about to become a legal matter, you can't, or would be adviced against, posting the exact response they gave you, but I'm wondering how you worded the question you gave them? If you wouldn't mind.

I don't think this would become a legal matter as much as a customer complaint matter. It's just not a good business practice for a company to be telling its customers to F off like that. It tends to lose them customers.

Hmm, not a legal matter but helps me decide who to not give my money to, but I will PM you.  I'd rather leave it at that.

Good point, and I'm not denying that it's bad practice. However, given that the game has been out since March and the fans, myself included, have been... I don't want to say 'foaming at the mouth', but at the very least dribbling at the corners of their lips, I could see someone with a twitter account that has been hounded over and over finally snapping in a moment of wild abandon. I mean, I've never been one to hold up the banner of, "smile for the customer", or "the customer is always right," and these guys don't work retail, so they aren't (and in most cases shouldn't be) held accountable to that kind of sheep, corporate, CYA brainwashing.

Inception is the only movie/video game I can realy think of which has a great ending which is meant to have a lot of speculating. All other games/movies which don't give you a complete ending that wraps up all loose ends tend to realy not be so great. ME3 is no exception.

for me what makes this speculative ending especially terrible is the fact that I was in complete control of my character for the entire series, and shepard's done so much badass stuff and pulled off the impossible, and keep in mind this is the entire trilogy he's doing stuff like this. then come the last 10 minutes he totally falls apart at the seams and just accepts the insane contradictions of a totally random and unexplained ghost child with the power to alter the laws of physics and reality with no explanation (magic anyone?). Then I get the most anticlimactic ending imaginable with no boss fight, no badass plot twist, no epic finale, no nothing. only confusion on top of more confusion, finished off with a nice cup of confusion.

then a dev says to "move on". in other words I know it sucks kiss my ass.

I've seen this film brought up many times in this thread as a comparison. Inceptions ending made sense because it was built around the idea that the Cobb might be dreaming the whole thing, and in that final moment, he makes the choice to stop worrying about it. If this is a dream, he doesn't care anymore, because it's the right dream. If he's not dreaming, more the better.

ME3, ironically a series known for it's excellent use of such weighty choices, never gave players the satisfaction of a right ending, a dream to choose as reality, because the choices came flying out of nowhere, as if SpaceKid's grandad suddenly realized he had a bad case of diarrhea coming on and had to wrap that story up real quick, so he just threw in some random stuff and SpaceKid was nonethewiser...

I know you weren't supporting the ending with the comparison, but I just wanted to put that out there because other people have previously in the thread.

3DandBeyond has been one of the most thoughtful and articulate people on the forums advocating an expanded "Shepard Lives" ending.  I'd find it hard to believe she(?) would say anything to deserve that kind of response.

So one dev says sheps lives, and another says shep dies? Just sounds like devs have their own interpretation, what exactly is the big deal?

And in fact, she(?) did not. I believe she has the right of it.

Also, yes, her posts are quite articulate. I certainly didn't mean to suggest that she tweeted "Change the ending or discover what your children's feet taste like, c***jugglers!!!" ...or, you know, anything along those lines.

Yup. Inception worked because the speculation was AFTER the reunion. By then it didnt matter if he was dreaming or not because he was at peace, having dealt with his past.

He spins the totem and doesn't look back.

ME3 speculation doesn't work so well IMO. We are left with more questions. Does Shep reunite with the crew/LI? What kinda of state is Shep in physically? Mentally - how do you deal with wiping out the geth and EDI?

The galaxy gets closure. Shepard doesn't.

Oh, I understand.  Just expressing shock that anyone would say that.

Well, not "anyone", there's plenty of folks on the BSN who'd say that just to because they can.  But a developer expressing such contempt for a player...

I think the whole EC ending is a one time thing. They listened to what most people wanted, but unfortunately, they did say they cannot address absolutely everyone's concerns. Moat people were satisfied on how things turned out, even more so after the EC. Unfortunately, there are still a small number who were not.

Imagine trying to create an ending catered to every single person who plays the game with their wishes. Be it blue children, settling down on that beach front property on Rannoch, or any other of the millions of combinations of that. Just not feasible as they've said before.

I think fewer people than you'd think are actually satisfied with EC.  Opinion is still very much divided,  though perhaps not as universally reviled as before.

As to making endings to satisfy everyone:  well, isn't that the entire point of having multiple endings, so that there can be outcomes to satisfy lots of differnt people?

And for some reason, Biowoare decided Shepard had to die in every single one of them.
