Could the reason why so many people get taken down by Phantoms so much is because they can't hear them due to the fact they're listening to music?

I usually listen to the game. I don't like being surprised by Banshee hugs because James Hetfield shouts something into my ears at full volume.

Anyway, right now it's Sólstafir - Pale Rider, which has quite the nice Mass Effect 3 feel to it. Well, the desperation part of it at least.

Trust me, I've spent a loooong time getting the balance right between the game sounds and music. I can still hear everything that's going on. It helps to have surround sound as well.
Also, another song that is on my playlist:

Also, I'd like to point out the guy who did this remix (and worked on a lot of the ones I posted before) was actually one of the composers who worked on ME2
