I'm concerned about the number of people who actually know about these challenges, since as what others have said, the number who visits the forum might be much lower than those actually playing. Even if these targets are considered reasonable within the player community, we might not hit the target if the criteria are not set for all enemies/difficulty level (ie. random and all-encompassing).

Those previous failed operations had specific target enemies and/or difficulty level (and during those operations, I've joined games where people were playing against non-op enemies/level). This time, it's N7 character for squad goal but thankfully not involved in the allied goal.

I wonder if it's possible for BW to announce such operations at the menu screens of the various platforms?

They do?  Just like in Halo Reach there is a full screen advert that pops up when one of these goes live at the main menu of the game (at least on 360).

I can confirm they do do this on pc as well :)

Squad Goal: Extraction on any difficulty with at least one squad member using an Earth Pack character.

The only thing clear is that one character has to be an N7, but no problem, it's just 1 extraction on any difficulty. So to be safe just get 1 full extraction with one of the characters being from earth and you've got yourself a commendation pack.

And I also agree that if you have all characters unlocked we should get an ultra rare weapon upgrade, don't get me wrong love the equipment but seriously that's all you get sometimes, it can be a little frustrating.

I've had it go both ways.  On most of the operations I've seen the full page advert, but on two of them I didn't.  It's weirdly inconsistent.

Is it required to have atleast 1 earth character for the mission to count toward the allied goal?

No, you only need the Earth character for the Squad goal. The allied goal can be done by any character, even no-human characters.

21 pages.   How many did you read?

No.  You don't need an earth character for allied goal, just for squad.

Does this mean each member extracted must be one of the earth dlc characters for it to count? Don't want the nonsense of broadside to happen again so please clarify immediately.

The squad has to have at least one earth character. If there is at least one Earth then ALL living squad members, Earth or not, count.

I thought you only needed at least one earth character in your squad to satisfy the Squad Goal Success, not the Allied Goal Success.  Am I wrong?

This extraction must be against the reapers, or enemy random ?

I don't think that it was answered by Chris. Just to be sure, l am going to play just Earth characters against reapers this weekend.

Wow, I read maybe 6 pages and can answer most of your questions. If you are actually going to post a question, perhaps you should read the thread first? Then there wouldn't be 21 pages of you people asking the same question over and over.

Squad Goal clarifications - One Earth DLC character is required for the squad goal. Partial extractions count, the Earth DLC character does not have to be one of the surviving people.

Allied Goal clarification - Partial extractions count, each living member counts towards the goal (i.e.- full extract = +4 towards the goal).
Depending on which Bioware post you believe, one Earth DLC character must be present for any character extractions to count (Chris may have just been confusing the squad and allied or assuming people were doing both at the same time). I'd just play it safe and make sure there's at least one Earth character if you're concerned about the community goal.

Universal conditions: ANY MAP, ANY DIFFICULTY, ANY ENEMY. No specified requirements here. Oh and how long Wave 11 (extraction wave) will now be, will be a fun discovery when the challenge starts.

Rewards: Commendation pack for squad, victory pack for allied goal with the pack containing one guaranteed Earth character. If you have all Earth characters maxed, it just becomes your standard Rare item card as found in SP and PSP (could be a rare gear, weapon, or IV consumable).

Savvy?

yeah, i am not terribly sure what is so confusing. i thought the goal pretty clearly stated.

anyone, anywhere, so long as there is ONE new character in the squad of four.

we can be fighting Cerberus, bronze, on FB Ghost... if I'm using my Destroyer and rolling with three Drell Vanguards, we're fine. If I perma-die at the hands of the Phantom during extraction, and the three Drell make it out, hooray. Credit. 3 more towards the 800,000.

if you don't have an Earth character, rest assured many folks like me will be out random grouping with ours to help ensure we reach the community goal.

No.  You get free travel to far away fire bases where you experience the excitement of gun play and the chaos of group cooperation...

Will play one quick bronze game early Saturday morning, to get the squad goal.
Then it will be wall to wall Olympic viewing. Go Team GB! Bring the gold home!

Quick question. I am just getting into the multiplayer and would like to know does the Commendation Pack reward for the squad goal success stacks with every success?

Nope.  You can get only 1 Commendation Pack and 1 Victory Pack per Operation.

Errrm, where did you get this part? I have read every "blue" BioWare post here and have not seen the bit about "ANY ENEMY"  in any of them. The word "Reaper" stands out in most of them so I am very curious.

At times it is a problem when they post in several locations and do not update all of them.

Thanks :)
I knew about only getting Victory pack but not the Commendation, that's kind of a downer, ah well.

why lengthen wave 11? shortening it or getting rid of it completely would be better. More time = more time for banshees to grab you or idiots pugs to die trying to camp by extraction on higher difficulties.

Is there usually a countdown clock for a MP event? Do I always miss it or something? Because I check these forums everyday. I've never seen it.
