I'm not hating on people who aren't up to gold/platinum standard, I can barely handle silver myself (so far) but know your limits.... if you're gonna chase a rainbow, try and make sure it's one you can actually catch.

Personally, I don't have much morale to complete the allied goal when there's no way to monitor the progress.

No one is convinced we succeed. We all know we didn't. Many of us expected it to be a planned failure.

Well, I've seen a few posts in the last couple of pages that contain claims that we actually succeeded - I do realise that doesn't mean most people think that.
As for progress, Chris from Bioware keeps saying it's impossible. Whether or not that's strictly true, it certainly means we won't be getting a progress meter any time soon. I'd like one, but I can imagine it could cause extra drain on servers which (from what I read here) wouldn't be welcome... personally I don't have a lot of trouble, certainly nothing on the scale I'm seeing reported in forums.

I have no doubt that it is, in fact, possible. Any form of progress would be acceptable to me, including milestones (even high ones, like at every 100,000).
I'd settle for an "Enemy forces are at half strength"

Allied goal: every extracted character counts towards the total, not necessary to have an N7 character in the squad.

Firstly congratulations on creating the new classes and introducing them on the multiplayer . I am having a lot of fun playing with them . The effort that goes into developing such a game must be quite draining but I guess Bioware knows how to make video games and this series is my favorite and you folks have set very high standards for multiplayer too .
Need less to say here are a few things that will make multiplayer more intrusting
a) Let the maps that we play in have climate control so bases such as Hydra , Vancouver , London can have snow and rain falling along with the mist and fog making target locking a challenge
c) I am glad bioware fixed the missile glitch the glitchers surely disereved that update was high time overdue but I am glad the fix was implemented.
d) I still find game disconnecting especially during a platinum extraction on SA base thrice I got disconnected and lost all my equipment and no credits it would be nice if credits are transferred after objective wave to user and the end of round 3,6, and 10 . the XP can be credited at the end of round 11 . this way the early logout / quitting of games can be avoided .
e) It would be nice if the glitch where the objective fall below the map on Hydra can be fixed along with the folks getting on the Dam that is a nice map and expect that those two can be patched up .
f) There should be multiple extraction points on maps like we have on dagger just to mix things up .
g) I also want to see a one shot powerful plasma sniper rifle without a charge on it I still love my widow but need to see if that is possible .
h) I am glad that I got my pet phantom in the form of Shadow …I am also looking forward for a pet Bangee lol
i) I would also recommend that we have collectors as a new enemy and the Krogan should be able to regenerate health as per the storyline
j) Oops forgot to mention please introduce get engineer to fix primes on gold run they are still easy to beat
k) Also we should have platinum medel if revives are more than 25 . I keep reviving the random most of the time but the counter stops after 15 .
Thankyou once again for a lovely game
Cheers and best of luck Bioware and EA

Operation OVERWATCH drops troops on Earth to tackle the most secure Reaper strongholds. Reaper anti-air defense will make for high-risk shuttle extractions.
REMEMBER: Feedback upload MUST be on for us to know if you complete the Squad or Allied goals. If it is not, we will not be able to grant rewards to deserving players. Thanks.
First time doing one of the Multiplayer weekend missions. How do I know that I am in the operation? Also, how do I know if I have "Feedback upload" on?

Everyone is dropping like flies. I'm playing a level 20 N7 Shadow with Stronghold V and Shield Booster III, and neither make any difference. Didn't notice until today. Did something change for the weekend operation?
Can't go a game without everyone bleeding out.

Extras>Options>Online (from the top level menu, before you enter multiplayer)
You are automatically in the operation, as long as you turn the feedback on.
And, before you ask, we won't hear the outcome till Tuesday. Commendation and Victory packs follow soon after (by late Wednesday normally?) You get no feedback during the event.

Do you play ME3 multiplayer?
Then congrats, you are in the operation.
Feedback upload is in options, under 'online options'.
It should be turned on in the stock settings, but doesn't hurt to check.

Thanks for the help. I checked and the settings are correct. Just wasn't sure about the matches. Can I get in by doing a "Quick Match", or do I need to set it up? Does it matter what the Location, Enemy, or Challange is set at?

Would love to help more, but after playing one match I was kicked out of EA server and can't get it to work again:/ My connection should be perfect and I'm definitely not a cheater... Bummer...
Reboot everything (your console, your router, modem if separate). I have this happen sometimes - something goes screwy, and it doesn't even look like the PS3 is properly trying to connect, just keeps reporting back "server unavailable" errors. Everything else on my network is running fine. But rebooting everything (router first, then power up PS3) fixes it.
I largely suspect my Netgear router is the root cause of the issue (too many devices on my home network now, and it seems to barf sometimes), but I haven't totally ruled out the PS3 firmware either. Given that restarting gear fixes it, seems unlikely that the root cause issue is outside my network.

Quick match is fine, so is setting up your own.
Any Location, Enemy or Challenge is fine.
The only thing is, someone in your squad has to be using a N7 character from the "Earth" DLC for the match to count in the operation.

For the Squad goal, yes; for the Allied goal, the team does not have to include any Earth DLC characters. It's OK to use them but they aren't required.

For the allied goal as well, confirmed.
If you don't trust me, check the topic announcing the operation in Mass Effect 3 News and Announcements. page 2, top post.

My forum settings must be different to yours; top of my page 2 is irrelevant to this.
However....
EDIT: My apologies; just realised you referenced a different thread. It does, indeed, contradict what I quoted. Interesting.Chris Priestly wrote...
Point of clarification:
Squad Goal MUST have at least one member from the Earth DLC pack to count towards the squad goal.
Allied Goal does not require a member form Earth. You can have Earth characters, but they are not required.
