For the squad extraction, does the player(s) who is playing with the N7 characters have to be extracted for it to count or not?

No. As long as an 'Earth' character is in the squad and anyone extracts it is fine. (I think.)

People need to stop trying to read what's not there and start reading what is there. Like in the last operation, so many people whinged about it not being clear, it said squad extracted, that seems pretty clear to me, 4 people make a squad if you're playing with 4 people. 1 if by yourself, 2 if with 2 and so on. 1 extracted when playing with 2, 3 or 4 is not a squad, it's one person. Hence why the other goal to achieve said at least one person extracted

How about the first sentences of the post "
Operation OVERWATCH drops troops on Earth to tackle the most secure Reaper strongholds. Reaper anti-air defense will make for high-risk shuttle extractions. "?

I just don't want to have games wasted playing other factions if it is Reapers, and I also don't want to play against only Reapers for no reason. So I'm supposed to trust that it is any enemy because they didn't say specifically "any faction", it's merely an assumption at this point.

so was it ever clarified if we are supposed to fight reapers or any other factions, just did a full extraction with nothing but n7 characters on reaper gold just incase. but if it doesnt have to be reaper only would be alot easier for me since I pug most the time
