Does warp ammo actually do more damage to barriers? I thought it only increased base damage and weakened armor.

Warp Ammo (at least in SP) does bonus damage to Barriers, Armor, and Health.

I have seen references that the "shield and barrier" bonus for WA in MP is untested.  It shouldn't do any bonus damage to shields at all unless they made it work differently than in SP altogether.  It should do bonus to Barriers, and I am fairly confident it does because he was killing Phantoms much faster with it, and it was required for a GI build I had to one-shot Phantoms on Gold.

what's wrong with mine? i say "this is a gold run" and it's a gold run o,O.. i don't say YO MASTER ****ING PLATINUM DUO and then go solo bronze =X

lol, actually since yesterday I've been trying to record a run with someone else recording while spectating. but I had 2 fails, the first at wave 2 for instakill and at 9 because of running out of medigel.

Maybe for tomorrow I have the spectator run


PS: Great Job Specter, I haven't done it yet with the Destroyer, maybe i'll try it later, i was focusing in another classes.

That wasn't very aggressive. There was at least 5 minutes to shave off.

Also about the armor ignore cap, who says it's capped at 60-something%? Any proof for that?

I agree with this, not aggresive enough, but that will increase the risk as well, and 5 minute's not worth taking the chance. 

also doubting about the 60 percent cap, but given what I've tried, Specter uses warp ammo killing faster than me using AP ammo + extended barrel + extend clip.

I have a feeling in the next couple of weeks the Destroyer will be seeing a nerf or 7.

Typhoon 50% armor ignore + Warp ammo III Armor Weakness of 50% is already 100% ignored armor. Warp ammos also have a higher damage bonus, so it makes sense that it would take down Atlas' armor and whole Banshees faster.

When you reach the late waves on platinum you can't be as aggressive as in the early waves because of the spawn system & multiple bosses pressuring you to run. After all you don't have cloak to save you & you're not krogan battlemaster to not care about damage. If you start killing a lot which is easily done, the spawn system plays against you and will f**k you over because all of a sudden the 3 phantoms you just killed will be on your flank where you didn't expect them. Or a boss spawning on your retreat route. Is that worth burning a medigel over? Maybe, but mistakes are costly and sometimes 1 medigel isn't enough to get out of a situation.

If you are in a bad spot, going through 2 medigels is not uncommon. Which quickly teaches you to stop being aggressive or the game starts playing you instead of the other way around.

By all means, I haven't said it's the fastest or most aggressive solo recorded, and I'm sure you guys are right - I can improve on it and other people probably could.

I'm just saying, that people were shouting (i'll not point at S-d-sk) that you're the best player, and the Destroyer + In such a long time is not impressive for "best" player. 

Or maybe they're just completely wrong and i'll move along.

While watching the video, it occurred to me how much Sp3nc3r's aim and timing has improved from the last time I watched his solo-run as the Geth Infiltrator with the Claymore. That was three or four months ago -- impressive.

I was using the Krysae on the Destroyer as the Phantom killer and was considering the GPS/Falcon/Scorpion after today's nerf. How do you think it would have gone if you went with the Falcon or Scorpion instead?

Phantoms are definitely the Destroyers worst nightmare. Too damn slow.

So, where and when did we establish that the Destroyer is overpowered?

Also, why do you think I've done it as a speed competition? As far as I know nobody has soloed platinum on Destroyer so you really aren't making sense. Nothing to compare it to... If I wanted to go for speed, I'd pick Geth Infiltrator. I don't know how you judge what a "long time" is for a platinum solo. Please link me to the full video of a non-infiltrator and non-battlemaster class which completes a run faster. And of course, you're entitled to your opinion, so is everybody else. I never claimed to be the best player myself.

I don't know, I'm not a fan of either the falcon or the scorpion. I needed something that kills phantoms quickly. It was a choice between GPS & Reegar. I picked the one which was less cheap and required more skill to use, in my opinion.

To be honest, the Destroyer is kind of overpowered. He has better DPS than a GI, he cannot be staggered and he has more shields than a Turian Soldier. It's not like you used a Batarian Sentinel or something.

Still impressive though. It's definitely easier to solo with an infiltrator or krogan vanguard than with a destroyer.

Thanks man. Appreciate the comments And yeah, I think this is the 2nd full video of a platinum solo (1st on PC) after GodlessPaladin's GI krysae solo (done on xbox). At least I'm not aware of there being other videos, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, believe it or not it has plenty of downsides to it. It is definitely not a jack-of-all trades weapon. It's not very good for sticky situations where you need quick firepower. Yes, it's great at sustained fire and it's great as a boss killer. But if there isn't a team mate protecting the destroyer from flankers or phantoms, then the destroyer is as good as dead. Have to bear in mind that to get the most out of Typhoon you need to be exposed. That's why in this video I mostly use the GPS as my quick reaction weapon and pull out the typhoon only when I know I'll be able to shoot undisturbed on bigger targets. It's a great weapon, definitely. But it's not a perfect weapon, not like the Krysae was before the nerf for example.

Not that kind of speed. Paladin did it much faster, RJ and at least one more man not to be named did it before you, the, presumably, "best" player.
