I have a hard time thinking "anyone can do this with xxx class, xxx weapons." If so, we'd see as more solo platinum runs.

That the Destroyer is powerful is not in doubt, just as the drelldept was. But to say "anyone" can do this ... *boggles*

What packs do you grind to be able to get Typhoon X? I've been waiting to get that gun for ages. And is extended barrel any good on the Typhoon?

I believe redjohn does everything he posts that he did, but i can see why people would think something is up when someone other than himself is on here advocating.  I've talked to him, he is a cool guy. He doesn't seem to be the type that needs an advocate.

In any case, that was quite the aiming display you did there. I felt you got of quite lucky on your second death though. The phantom takes you down, you rez and manage to sprint before she sync kills you. Awesome! I'll watch the rest tonight.

I just finished watching the whole video. Sp3c7eR, you are AMAZING! I especially like the way you handle Banshees, made it look so easy. I learned a lot from this video, hopefully next time I try to solo Platinum, I can get past wave 1.

Wow the haters are out in force today... I'll have to watch the video tonight, but given there are so few Platinum solo runs, it's pretty hard to state anything except it is possible with class X and weapons Y.
I'd certainly not dismiss anyone's solo, unless i an do it myself (with video evidence), and let others critique my play style, time and choices.

I know what you mean about turning off the music and listening for sounds. I use Surround sound headphones so I hear enemies all around me and know where they are. I once went to a friend's house and played with him using just his tv speakers, and wow; I was crippled. I didn't realize how much I relied on it.

Very good run. It was entertaining to watch from beginning to end.

Also very nice that there was no cheap Krysae or so involved and it was an overall solid run in perfect video quality as well. Not like some of the other **** some people post around here.

Well, yeah, as it isn't ridiculously OP. Still it is OP IMO though - bringing down 2 banshees in 20sec (13:41-14:01) is just insane.

Haha, that was a good moment, yeah. It was only possible due to them being behind each other though, so a number of bullets hit them both.

Destroyer w/ Typhoon isn't as OP as many make it out to be. Yes, DPS is great but in order to dish it out you have to be exposed, keep firing, unable move or retreat reliably. DPS doesn't tell the whole story either. It's the amount of time it takes you to score kills that improve your survivability that matters, not just damage output. It's not like Krogan vanguard to not care about damage received completely or like GI to know where all enemies are & determine best escape route. Yeah, destroyer has a lot of shields, but those shields go down in 1 second if sniped by  phantom and it takes 4 shots from phantom palm cannon to kill him.

Mobility wise, he's not that great either. So there are a lot of weaknesses on the destroyer, which you have to learn to overcome. It's not like the Kroguard where you only have to watch out for sync kills or GI where you have to worry only about dishing out the most damage in the shortest time.
