Selfish Demolishers

Instead, I run around to the ammo boxes and take the grenades there, because if there are two people farming at the desk, the aggro's on them and most of the big bosses are in their area or headed there, they're pinned down and they can't get to an ammo box, but allows me the mobility necessary to replenish my grenades and ammo and cover the outside (which is also closer to the ammo box).
It doesn't always work (the two guys at the desk frequently get overrun even with the pylon) and I have to go rez them, but I don't mind: I usually run between the inside and outside anyway depending on where I'm needed more, which allows me the luxury of replenishing my grenades at the same time.
I'm sure there are more effective ways for me to use the Demolisher, but I like to make sure my support class' support abilities are helpful to the rest of the team, not just to me. It's one thing if I am sure I can solo the game, in which case I might play more selfishly, but if I can do that, I don't really see why I would make it a public match and allow people to drop-in either. I start public matches so I can play with other people, and if we fail, whatever: we'll try again next time.

This is pretty sad IMO, to me the Demolisher is a classic support character, and yet he absolutely NEEDS every grenade it throws out?
Anyone else have problems with Selfish Demolishers?
What I find sad is that you're being dependent on someone's pylon when he is also highly dependent on it and you're calling him/her selfish. It is not even his/her responsibility to replenish your grenades. The character description says, "Demolishers can also create a supply pylon that stocks allies with an unending reserve of grenades and thermal reloads." Nowhere does it say that she SHOULD stock allies with grenades. A Justicar can protect you with her Biotic Sphere, but she is free to choose not to and use it offensively herself. If you are gonna play a grenade dependent class, make sure you have alternate sources of grenades aside from simply leeching off someone else's source. If you really wanna be a team player and help with tech bursts and armored enemies, use incinerate or other powers to detonate tech bursts from her arc grenades, and the same power against armor mobs while she spams her powerful homing grenades.
The N7 Demolisher, being a highly grenade dependent class, will most likely have her passive tree specced on power damage and will probably also have lower shields due to prioritizing grenades. She doesn't have marksman, adrenaline rush or destroyer mode. She doesn't have her a considerably powerful melee. If enemies catch a Demolisher unprepared, what will she depend on to stay alive? HER ARC GRENADES. Neither her Typhoon nor her Piranha will save her from gold mobs. And those weapons won't save your downed squadmate when he/she is surrounded my mobs either. If you are a true team player, you will allow the Demolisher to shower surrounding enemies with grenades (which will be possible if she has lots of them) while you rush to revive. And yes, she does have ammo packs, but so do you.

If you play a Demolisher to supply others with grenades don't ask to be on my team because I believe you have no idea to fully play your character at even 40% of her potential and you are going to wipe us.
If you are changing your character because there is a Demolisher on your team with thee intention of getting their grenades then you have no idea how that class works and you don't need to ever play with a Demolisher until you do.
Taking a character's grenades whose only power is grenades is just wrong. No two ways about it and you should be ashamed of yourself. You have other abilities and she doesn't. Use them or go walk and get more grenades.
Also you can get that pylon replenishing every 4-5 seconds if you take a low weight weapon. You will rank first nearly every time on Platinum and will be an excellent support for your team.
When I do play my Demolisher on Platinum and I am caused to be dislodged from a cover because I am laying a pylon and a destroyer is trying to camp my pylon to take away my only ability which is grenades when he has devastator, his powerful gun probably a typhoon, and either missile launcher or grenades plus tons more shields and armor than me to be able to get more grenades if need be, that is wrong and it is LAZY on their part.
I don't feel sorry for you wanting to break my character for your greed.
pretty much this.

Considering grenades are all they got, that makes sense. Most demolishers I play with don't even spec for fitness, so they rely heavily on their dps from said grenades just to survive. Maybe OP is the one being selfish here.

What I REALLY hate is when Demolishers choose the heaviest weapons and never place the pylons. Absolutely absurd, yes there's no technical cooldown but deploy it as a BoF not a dusty trophy.

Bioware could buff 'nade drop rates, but that would just encourage MORE power-spamming. They could make Demolisher 'nades use a cooldown instead of the numerical limit, but then the best thing about the Demolisher - that it can be at a -200% CD without negative effect - no longer applies. It also means that they do not perform well in tight corners.
Unfortunately there is nothing to be done about a***holes. Bioware did not hire them to ****** us off and therefore do not have the power to make them 'see sense'.
They could perhaps make the Demo use 'unique' grenade refils, and have their pylon spit both types out in equal measure, but people will be upset about that on both sides of the fence. I think they may have programmed themselves into a hole because they weren't expecting the nightmare that is many selfish players.

Every time I spot one in the lobby, I switch in Krogan soldier for his Inferno grenades to help with tech bursts (If it can, I never notice) and to provide consistent fire damage against the myriad or armoured opponents.
But then, I spot said demolisher set up his/her Pylon and sit RIGHT ON TOP OF IT, soaking up all grenades as it spits them out.

No, the real problem is that I have to camp on it because somebody else will. If I am topped off on nades/ammo, i will move to the side and let them know they can restock. Problem with that is I guess I pick really good spots to setup my pylon because they don't want to leave after sitting there for 30 seconds. I said grab some not take over it. If we are doing a hack objective and there is a devastator with multi frags. I will let him know he can borrow my pylon until the hack is done. Multi frags are a good thing to always have. I believe in teamwork, not charity.

Often a sniper or an assault rifle user will sit with me inside the pylon zone and I welcome that. I specced for 15% weapon damage and 25% shields.
The problem is with no fitness, I'm very squishy outside of my pylon especially. The 25% more shields definately helps. I can only move with someone else since I tend to go down alot. I more hate when no one sits with me or stays near me and I get over run while others rambo. I highly welcome people to stay by and use my pylon to its full extent.
I always go on objectives and replace my pylon where appropiate. I do my best to cover delivery operaitves, etc.
The only time I sit on top of my pylon is when I do FBWGG.

But there's no reason you must always be 'topped off' and this is where the 'selfish demolisher' problem arises. My Demo can carry a max of 11 grenades if I slap on Grenade Capacity V, but do I ever really need more than 6 unless I'm panic spamming? Nope.

Uhhh so free shields, ammo, and dmg boost for easy kills isn't enough? You want my grenades too? Screw you!
Have you ever played Demolisher OP? They live on grenades. Yeah, two of three powers are grenades.

If only they scattered some form of supply pylon across the maps, where you could replenish ammo...
Thank you, SOOO much for this.
I got the Demolisher in my first Spectre pack after Earth came out (as well as the broken Slayer), and I knew beforehand it was the one that I was gonna want.
Supply pylon gives him grenades. Ya know why? Because the demolisher NEEDS his grenades. He doesn't have any fancy pantsy powers to use. He has 'nades. And my Demo carries 10 of them at a time. That's a lotta 'nades I need to collect to fully refill.
What I'm getting sick of is when teammates sit directly on top of the thing and keep me from getting my grenades. Seriously, your drell has other powers it can use. Get off my pylon and go help with the objective already. Random players like that are what keeps me from using my Demo with randoms.
It's easy for the Demo to share if he frequently re-drops his pylon, because every new one insta-drops more grenades. But don't be a jerk and use the Demo as your personal ammo-supplier. It's our power, let us use it. If we want to share, we will. You want grenades? Either take our leftovers, assuming there are some, or go around the map and collect them the usual way. Appreciate what Demos give away.

As much as I am all about sharing grenades, switching to a grenade user when seeing a Demolisher join the lobby seems to imply that you want to create competition for grenade (not that it does, since Demolisher using their own pylons means ammo boxes are up for grabs). I'd think that using tech skills with cooldowns will hlep a lot more with tech burst. So yeah, switching to a grenade user when spotting a Demolisher feels like a message is being sent "Haha! Imma compete with you for grenades!"

Selfish or not, which rank 6 upgrade do you demolishers prefer on homing grenades?
For a long while, I used the split grenades, but got tired of them hitting the Prime's drones/turrets when I'm trying to hit the Prime itself. So then I used the other one, and it works really great.
