I haven't seen you but I agree with your sentiment. Player skill can trump all these so-called nerfs.

Boo hoo, you can't rapidly shoot a grenade launcher with a scope with no regard for accuracy into controlled spawns anymore to rack up quick points and look important.

What you CAN do, is learn how to snipe if you want to use a sniper rifle. I can pull out a Widow, Valiant, even an Indra and do work with it. Hell, I use the Indra on my Gethgineer and I love it.

The best snipers are the Claymore, Talon, and Piranha on a Turian Soldier.

Yep that's true. Since they removed headshot bonuses, kishock is terribad agaisnt bosses.

Whether or not sniper rifles are now useless surely depends on what you're using them for.

If you just want some kind of ultra gun that allows the user to be a kind of one man army demolishing distant enemies in the blink of an eye, then yes the sniper rifles fail to satisfy.

Sure, the days of Captain Krysae frantically dancing about the map, chewing up everything that moves are gone. Is that really such a bad thing? It was really a pretty boring weapon that demanded very little from its user: on silver or bronze it may as well have been replaced with a magic wand that caused enemies to inexplicably collapse just by pointing it at them.

However, they can (and probably more appropriately) be used in a more supporting role providing overwatch: taking down shields and weakening groups of enemies at a distance and (ideally) from a different angle to the rest of the team, providing long range support for melee orientated classes to help them avoid getting mobbed, and so on.

Is this actually true? If it is, it's just plain idiotic and obviously BW took a page from Blizzard (If you've seen D3 you know what I'm talking about lol).

The no headshot bosses thing pisses me off, it doesn't even make sense. They have heads don't they? we have guns don't we? We should be able to kill them effectively if we can aim properly, that's what snipers do.

Exactly why snipers are not useless. There are plenty of options for removing shields first, but I guess people just get upset that they can't one-shot everything immediately. Tactics are huge.

My little snark was directed at the OP and others who think a solid balance change somehow ruins the entire class/weapon/game/series/company.

Sorry I'm better at using a weapon then you are. Let alone most people. I'm the only person I know who uses a Widow which is a 10/X. And I'm still top of the scoreboard every game I play just about. Not to mention I don't play with randoms often. 

It saddens me that people like you exist. "I can't use this weapon correctly so It sucks." Everyone has their weapon proficentys, and mine is Snipers. :innocent:

lol, clearly you don't know who I am. Anyone can be good at sniping in this game because of how over the top easy it is. I play for efficiency and fun, meaning I play to finish a game as fast and clean as possible while having fun. The widow slows down the efficiency of a platinum match because it's a one shot weapon. How fast do you get extraction in platinum? How often are you the one spawn killing waves of enemies?

Scoreboard doesn't mean a thing when you speed run matches.

I don't go down actually, the only times I go down are when we start to get swamped. Other than that my job in Platinum when I'm playing considering 98% of the time I'm my Geth Infil. Is to take out the small guys and assist with bosses along with getting objective on those waves if their the "Activate these" and to revive downed team mates. 

Other than that I keep up in score with everyone else. Your statement is invalid.

While were on the subject, I came back from a 2 month leave of this game, can someone tell me wtf happened to my claymore infiltrator and why it seems immensely weaker?

Both are wrong. Javelin never ever had shield gate penetration. Kishock still has shield gate penetration.

They made changes to TC, reduced the base duration and the damage increase at rank 4 and the sniper rifle buff at rank 6

10% less base damage on Tactical Cloak, 7.5% less base damage on Hunter Mode.

Infiltrators are still the best characters in the game.

I wouldn't call it "useless" in my case. More "not what I usually want to do with a sniper rifle" so I'm not going to really use it even if I unlocked it over the weekend and tried it a few times.

You want to speed run? Cool with me, I play to enjoy myself. I don't try to get done as fast as I can, I try to keep my team alive and I try my best to support them.

Completeing the mission is top priority. Yeah it's nice when you complete It fast, But all I care about IS Completeing it.

I reckon it's GodlessPaladin's fault! He played Platinum with GI+Krysae at ComiCon and not only proved Platinum is doable but brought it to their attention for a second round of nerfs.
