I personally think videos of 12 minute platinum speedruns, platinum solos, platinum with stupid weapons like Avengers, etc. have alot to do with it. No offense intended to the folks that made those videos... you're skills are to be admired (except GI Krysae users... they are to be spat upon). Just imagine yourself as a Bioware developer... you make a difficulty that is supposed to be super hard... to the point that you yourself cannot fathom players being able to solo it... then, Bahroo, RedJohn and Godless Paladin solo it on day 1... post videos, etc. It's almost a slap in the face to the efforts of the devs... and they want to make it so that people can't do those things... and I have no problem with that. There should be a mode that is unable to solo... even for the elite of the elite.

That means that you suck as a player and game creator and should hire someone who actually have ideas how to do it ( talking about Bioware engineers and managers ). Nothing less and nothing more.

simple, have 11 waves of nothing but banshies, primes and atlas's

That wouldn't make it harder. It would be tedious.

It would actually become more easy then platinum. The worst waves are where there are most reds shooting from each direction, not most bosses.

One more time, instead of 10 waves, makes 10 objectives with non-stop spawn. Would be rly fun.

The last 2-3 balance changes have been aimed at making players weaker and enemies stronger. With the exception of buffs to about 3 or 4 weapons.

If you are good enough at this game to want more of a challenge, good for you. I understand that, but you also have to understand us less skilled players plight....

It is NOT fun to die and lose constantly.

It is NOT fun to only have a limited selection of guns to choose from because of the difficulty level we have to play on. Then having only about half of those weapons at an effective level on higher difficulties.

It is NOT fun to have your oppenents to seemingly impossible stuff. Such as shooting while staggering or having a barrier that blocks grenades.

I'm just saying. It seems more and more like the people at Bioware are catering to players of an extremely high skill level. I like to think of myself as an above average player and I still get creamed in Gold PuGs. I breeze through Silver like nothing, I should at least be competitive on Gold.

TL;DR: Just some Q_Q from a frustrated player.

Waiting for you mad bro responses...

I agree with you. I have played since the first few days the game came out and the difficulty has increased. It was hard when I first started on Bronze with the level I everything, most games were fails with friends and randoms. I can only imagine with the buffs to all the factions since then that a new player may get very frustrated when they get annihilated by a maurader in 1 burst. I'm fine with boosting the factions at platinum or gold (for the elite players  which are probably 75% of what frequent this board) but the average player that just started the game a boost to silver and especially bronze is not a good idea in my opinion.

problem is not game mechanics, weapons, powers...

problem is a player who didn't finish first on score board and now he or she feels defeated personally

solution to their personal problem is start crusading for nerfs

BIOWARE solution is to make every class, weapon, power same exact DPS...

While Bioware has been buffing and nerfing almost weekly I have to admit it looks more like they are fine tuning the content much more like a MMO and less like a what I would expect from a game like this.

It is very obvious that they arent striving for a perfectly balanced game and it seems like they are doing it more to see what the cause and effect of such actions. Am I saying they arent being mindful of their changes... No, did weapons like the Krysae need to be changed because of its popularity, no it needed to be changed because of the way it interacted with mobs. Did the N7 eagle need to be buffed. Yes not only because its status was higher then its effectiveness but because it was underwhelming in all categories.

Also truth betold the changes they make to weapons are very small regardless. Often the damage is being tweaked by 5 maybe 10% so while you may see that as a breaking mechanic in the grand scheme of things its only a drop in the pool. Does it cause you to change behaviors, in some cases yes but in most its barely noticed. Often times a 10% damage decrease isnt going to mean much, for most smaller mobs you are still talking about it taking the same number of shots... maybe 1 additional if that but on a mob like a prime or atlas... maybe 3 or 4 extra shots, in most cases that isnt even a full clips worth of extra shots so its not like they are pushing players to become ammo box campers. Yes in the course of a gold match you may find yourself frequenting it a few more times but not enough to break the game.

If you want to complain about them making the game "harder" you should be complaining about the fact that Platinium isnt really a better level created, just a harder one because they placed the emphasis on boss mobs rather then creating new mechanics. Like other posters have said its not better to only kill 2 or 3 mobs over and over again because they are the bigger and bad. Silver seems to be the consistent winner on the "fun scale" for most players because the mix of mobs is more spread out. Gold has a more challenging factor but most people admit taking on 3 Primes vs 2 Primes doesnt make gold a better level.

And now that im done my off the subject rant I am taking my soap box and going home.

I hope you are joking. First, the only thing that is important about scoreboard are skills, not DPS. You can have Typhoon, i can have Carnifex and i can get twice the points you have if i am trained for headshots and if the map don't allow to make constant fire.

I feel like the game is getting easier for me. A month ago there is probably no way I could carry a gold game. Now I can usually pull it off, probably still couldn't solo gold or anything, but the game definately feels easier than it was a month ago.

try glacier farming on platinum vs geth. You sit in the small room, with 2 phoenix vanguard/adept, one justicar and (here u can pick anything). Ex-cerberus use biotic powers to attack thorugh the walls, and you can do it in about 18-22 minutes.

They do it because they're angry at players finding quick/easy methods to grind and earn their credits faster. They want to prolong the progression of manifests so people play more or possibly spend more real money in their store.

It's a scum bag move if you ask me.

Those looking for more of a challenge should just play with weaker characters/weaponry not force the rest of the community to accept nerfs.

But of course that'll never happen because those selfish pr***s are just butthurt over being outscored.

beat me to it

agian, this game is not fun anymore because of all the nerfs, mainly from people whining and complaining about how they dont have a weapon or power. now that they do, they complain how it is not good any more and something else is better. i say stop waving the nerf bat and start BUFFING EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!

As people's skills get better and their weapons level up, they have to up the difficulty to keep the game from getting monotonousness. Gold is consistently very beatable with a good team in private match. If they kept the difficulties the same, the game would be like Diablo III farming.

Very true...if you have them.  Know who doesn't have them?  New Players.

I have never endorsed a nerf (even if I may have secretly hoped for one on occasion), but I still maintain that it was a mistake to make the entry level difficulties so much harder--and they ARE harder.

As I said, the more new players we can add to the fold, the longer our beloved game will last.  As it is now, I think the barrier to entry is getting a bit too daunting.

I think people who have been around this game from the beginning just may be forgetting how incredibly complex it has become--much more so than any other shooter that comes to mind.  Powers, classes (37 of them (31 of them unique) each with 5 skill/power trees and  84 points to eventually assign!!!), Weapons (SOOO many weapons--and good luck judging them from the descriptions!), Consumables, Gear, Weapon Mods, Numerous enemies (all with unique--and often unexpected--abilities/quirks), Maps, Spawns, Power Combos...and on and on and on.   We have grown with the game...newer players haven't had that luxury.  Don't get me wrong, I love the complexity...the depth......but just because I like the depths, doesn't mean the new player should have no choice but to plunge into the deep end.

For the ****s sake!

Just make 1 big wave with 10 objectives with non-stop constant spawn! And make more reds!

Or some maps that are more like singleplayer, but for multiplayer!

Or this game will die, and soon.

So many people talking nonsense...

After day 1 common weapons aka starting ones have seen a minimum amount of nerfs or buffs, but the enemies are 5 times harder.

First are the MANY behavior buffs that enemies have gotten and those apply to bronze as well.
Not to mention Geth HP has been raised at least 3 times in bronze, cerberus at least 2 times and reapers once (I think).

This thread is valid, a new player starting on bronze now, would be as useful as an insect.

Want to feel like a new player? Take your level 1 character to silver and limit yourself to the predator/SMG or the avenger (mantis is the best common weapon and as thus doesn't count).

Honestly bioware should fix this by giving all common weapons upgrades in the starting packs so new players can have a chance of doing some damage.

if the game is fun and balanced people play it, if the nerfs are nonsense or too much, people farms

Have to agree. I have arthritis and golds are now near impossible for me. I used to enjoy silvers with one friend but now we get creamed about 50% of the time doing 2 player bronzes. The sheer numbers of enemies dropping right on top of hacks or objectives is just not enjoyable.

Bioware has not only nerfed everything worth a damn but left the majority of character classes ( Vans, soldiers, Adepts...) basically useless in silver and gold. They are powerful but they drop in a second.

I did a bronze yesterday w/ a level 1 Inf solarian...i think its 500 and 600 shield/health. I went down 1 time from a direct ravager blast or two. My friend had a level 19 Phoenix Van and went down 20 or 30 times. I played the same character next round and died so much it wasn't funny. There is something wrong when a level 1 inf is so much more powerful and able to take damage than a lvl 19 Van...I personally believe the Van and Adept classes are bugged.

Just my opinion...
