Hard Candy. Includes one of my favorite characters, performed by the quite-talented Ellen Page. Incidentally, she's in Beyond: Two Souls as well.

I thought Hard Candy was quite well known. Even for an indie film.

The Spanish Prisoner - quirky little suspense film written by David Mamet. Has Steve Martin playing against type.

The Gift - creepy murder mystery set in the bayou backwoods. Has an all-star cast, including a terrific Cate Blanchett, and an almost unrecognizable Keanu Reeves.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm,
Underrated, I like it more than Dark knight lol.
It counts, go ask anyone if they Remember Mask of the Phantasm.

Is Secretary the one with Maggie Gyllenhaal? Still have yet to ever actually find Audition anywhere.

I'll add The Naked Lunch to the list. It makes you think of Peter Weller from Robocop a little differently.

Squirm

Squirm? As in "You gon' be da WORM FACE!" ? Awesome.

As for me, I'd toss out a recommendation for Too Tired to Die, starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Mira Sorvino. Wacky stuff.

Oh, and Ching Yan (The Beast Stalker). Great great movie.

Is it sad how happy it makes me that someone else has seen Squirm, that Alligator and The Blob remake are great movies to sit and turn off your brain.

Maybe not for you, fact is its a very overlooked movie that didn't even make it into many theaters all around the world.

In Bruges was a nice surprise.

Never heard of it at all until a friend recommended it.

Probably not the most obscure movie out there, but one that should get more recognition I think.

Photographing Fairies

Maybe more known in Britain; I watched it in the US. A surreal tale about a post-war photographer who sees a photograph of what appear to be real fairies (small, flying supernatural beings), and goes off to find them.

Another Earth is a great movie. Amelie was a huge hit all over Europe. It was scored entirely by Yann Tiersen, who's practically a musical god in France. So yeah, it's fairly popular.

It depends on just how obscure you're talking and what kind of audience you're talking about. You posted The Tracey Fragments, which isn't all that obscure to people who watch indie flims. I would say just about every film posted so far would be unkown to the general public, while many would be very well known to a specific kind of audience. Stanley Woo posted Audition for example, which to the general public would be unknown, but for big horror fans it's pretty infamous.

Medicine For Melancholy

Wyatt Cenac from the Daily Show stars in this. I was amazed at how adept of an actor he is in this piece. You won't find a more honest "love story" to how people really are than this movie. It's a great film and had an extremely limited release which is a shame because more people [b]need[/img] to see this movie. It would put a lot of things in perspective for them.

Black Dynamite - It's criminal this film didn't get wide release in theaters. It's one of the funniest movies i've seen in a long time

Beowulf and Grendel - Starring a pre 300 Gerard Butler as Beowulf. A much better movie than that CGI flick.  Love it alone for the Icelandic landscapes.
