Kung Fu Hustle - (hopefully not that unknown, but if you haven't seen it, shame on you and go watch it in English *with* the English subtitles. Hilarious)

Oscar - Huge name actors in a relatively obscure film because everyone thought an ensemble comedy with Sylvester Stallone would suck. Well, it didn't, so there.

The Favor, the Watch, and the Very Big Fish - yeah, strange title makes for quirky fun movie

Zorro the Gay Blade - Use the same sense of humor you use to watch Blazing Saddles, then go have fun

Peter's Friends - Amazing ensemble dramedy with Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, and Emma Thompson. If you love British movies, you really should see this.

The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension - You need to pay attention to the dialogue, but if you've never seen John Lithgow and Christopher Lloyd play insane aliens and Jeff Goldblum play a neuroscientist trying to be a cowboy... you really need to see more movies! (not for everyone, but worth it for this alone...)

Second the recommendations of Peter's Friends and the Kung Fu Hustle!

For a little known cheesy movie, try Bubba Ho-Tep.

Guys just so you know.
If I'm aware of the movie then you're doing it wrong.
I don't watch movies very often. Everyone and their mother has seen Troy and Big Labowski.
Come on!

I'm sure you think so, but you might just be quite surprised at how few knows of it. When I look at this topic I look upon it like this. "Movies that aren't constantly in the spotlight, and talked about in all of the reviewer circles*. No Country For Old Men, True Grit, these are probably the most renowned of the Coen Brothers films. I'd like to bet on that. It's probably outside the US borders, where the fewest have heard of Lebowski I'd like to think so. Just sayin' here. Besides if you have heard of it, then there's no reason for to be bothered about it, no?

The Beast a.k.a. Beast of War from 1987/88

www.youtube.com/watch

Bit "spoilery" if you will*, but if you do not mind a low-budget production that still manages to bring that specific setting across quite well - unlike high-budget hurr like Rambo 3 - and present a surprisingly balanced portrait of the sides of the conflict - no, there are no CIA-people or even Pakistanis present, despite appearances - you cannot go all that wrong with this.

*Wish someone put up one of the more hilarious, memorable quotes of the film: "RPG tank kaput."
Although I find it fascinating that sub-titles are not even that necessary to actually understand the Pashtuni Mujahideen.
