DA2 is a great buy at $10. You can now cheaply experience either like or dislike for the game and it will not hurt your pocketbook.

I always hold off and get the GotY edition or Ultimate edition. If they don't make one of those for DA2, well then there's a reason for it and I won't be getting it.

Still waiting on a Ultimate edition of ME2 to buy though (PC).

Agreed, but assuming that someone here isn't convinced and on the fence, try the demo, and watch this review that I think describes it's problems pretty well:
(though I still think that he gave it a too high score, but he also admits this himself on his "most dissapointing games of 2011":   )

Better to get any older Bioware game instead then, that you can get even cheaper nowadays. Like jade empire or KOTOR if you havn't played those already.

I think it's worth ten bucks. I've picked up far worse games (Damnation, Two Worlds, and Darkest of days I'm looking at you) for much more then then that.

Its not worth $10 huh? I'd like to see the game libraries of people that find this agreeable. I was disappointed with the game as well and held off buying it for a while but its not nearly as bad as some people contend it is.

It may not hold a candle to Origins but its worth $10 if you enjoy role-playing games. Despite any amount of paragraph laden posts detailing its faults, the game is still better than a lot of other RPGs on the market, many of which actually cost more.

I guess it´s all about the expectations you have towards a sequel and if you want to support a downgrade in quality and polish in that regard. Every Dollar, Euro, Yen put on the table is green-lighting this trend.

So yes, in that perspective 10 $ is 10 $ too much.

I honestly got zero enjoyment from DA2. Everything about the game was a chore for me. The difference between playing DA2 and cleaning my toilet was that at least cleaning my toilet accomplished something. In the end I at least had a clean toilet.

And truthfully I'm not even sure why. Yes we've all seen the endless lists of the flaws of DA2, and I totally agree with every one. But I also have other games that were poorly done that I at least got some enjoyment from. Whatever is that elusive thing that makes a game enjoyable for me is completely missing from DA2.

I guess that's why I'm so frustrated about DA2. I can't fathom how the sequel to a game I really enjoyed could be such an utter failure for me. To me DA2 is worthless. Literally no fun at all.

Someone mentioned buying other old BW games. I have done that. Both KOTOR, Jade Empire, and ME1 all cost me about $10, and two of those games are from the previous console generation. DA2 is an ok game. It wasn't Vampire Rain (worst game I have ever played), nor was it Arkham City (one of my favorite games). It smacked of mediocrity. A strong 7 on a scale of 10. I would have no problems buying it at $10.

Well 10 bucks for a lot of Mess Effect - that's a good price!

Just keep in mind that doesn't have any Mass Effect magic.....

For the people that agreed.Tell me a better game I can buy for 10$?with a decent amount of play time?

Da2 can get annoying but its a nice way to pass a few hours, and for people who have never played it trust me it's worth 10-20 dollars.trying to get your your first 50k crit will become nice motivation to keep playing.

This is kingdhanny and I approve this game

Both Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 blow DA2 away and are both available on amazon for the 360 super cheap. ME1 platinum hits is $16.50 and ME2 is $14.00. I didn't even shop around so maybe you can do better...

Yea they cost a couple of bucks more but you can't even compare the games. DA2 is garbage in comparison.

It is the internet so every molehill gets turned into a mountain. I get much amusement from the many poster who have been throwing a tantrum since "DA:O was no true spirtual successor to BG and was a insult to all the true fans"
No, really we still have some that claimed they would never buy another BioWare game after DA:O and yet they have them all registered and keep repeating the same hollow rhetoric.
Or it is the same people repeating themselves post after post everyday.
I mostly laugh and pity them.

Um, lots? Especially if we are not only counting RPGs, and even more so if we are counting games when they are on sale, like DA2 now (unfortunately the steam summer sale ended not long ago, but otherwise:
Those are just some games that's currently on my mind that is currently sold for less than 10$. And each of them are much better than DA2. Just xomparing is actually mindly insulting to most of them. Not to mention that these items aren't currently on sale, so if you are willing to wait, you can buy them even cheaper later if you are patient enough.

And assuming that you don't mind waiting until some items are on sale, here are some really great RPG games that are currently sold for 20 $ or less:
  • Vampire, the masquerade: Bloodlines (
http://store.steampo...1_7_suggest__13 ) on steam for 19.99 $. It was released 2000, that is 12 years ago,and was at that time horrible rushed with completely gamebreaking bugs (the game would at one event that was mandatory to continue the game, always crash ). The developer, Troika, also went out of business before they managed to patch all the bugs. Yet despite all this, it is today still priced 19.99$. And you know what? That's a steal.
And yet it is being sold at a higher price today than DA2. It is one of the best games ever made, and thankfully modders have seen this hidden gem hidden by all its bugs and released unofficial patches to this day. I actually think that they just released a new update this very week. Anyway, this is how a game about vampires SHOULD be done. No sparkly vampires to be seen here.
  • Alpha protocol (
http://store.steampo...1_7_suggest__13 ) 19.99$ on steam. This game is probably still on everyones fresh mind, with its many bugs and horrible combat. And yet it is being sold at a higher price today than DA2. And believe me, the combat is horrible. However, the dialogue system, and the choices and consequences in this game are good enough to redeem itself. Still worth its price, in my opinion.

Sir I have to disagree!!with a lot said in this topic.

Because people got so attached to their warden in DAO who was not Allowed to return in DA2 they QQ about a decent game.the op post that a  decent game was only10$ and people come
To bash the game only.

If you hate DA2 so much maybe try a I'm stuck on DAO forum?

To the people looking for a fun game for 10$ read the OPs first post.

I prefer DA2 to DA:O to be honest

IMO the voiceacting lacked charisma and sounded tired, and I'm not quite sure why they went with a silent protagonist (that's so 90's). DA:O also started quite slow with quite a lot of dialogue.

Mind you I only played up until Ostagar - but that was my initial impression at least.

But DA:2 put you straight into the thick of things and I felt had a bit more 'bite' to it

Even the Legend of Zelda is in dire need of voice acting..
