I prefer DA2 to DA:O to be honest

IMO the voiceacting lacked charisma and sounded tired, and I'm not quite sure why they went with a silent protagonist (that's so 90's). DA:O also started quite slow with quite a lot of dialogue.

Mind you I only played up until Ostagar - but that was my initial impression at least.

But DA:2 put you straight into the thick of things and I felt had a bit more 'bite' to it

Even the Legend of Zelda is in dire need of voice acting..

Uh oh. Judgeing by how this thread has been going, you should start running before these people start a mob

wow, why is everyone such a drama queen on this forum?

Because they think Bioware might still be unaware everyone hates DA2.

It's definitely worth $10. Amazon had a sale a while back and I picked up DA:O ultimate edition and dragon age 2 for around $10 and it was a great buy. There are flaws in DA2 and it's clear that parts were rushed, but it's enjoyable. The party banter is awesome, as usual.

I've played some DA2 at a friends house and I've been thinking of picking it up at a low price for quite some time now to see if it's as bad as everyone says. So thanks for the heads up! I might get it, or I'll just wait a bit longer in hope of an Ultimate Edition or something with all the DLCs.

From my experience thought, DA2 doesn't really seem as bad as everyone says it is. But then again, I guess I can't really comment fully until I've played the full game for myself and with my own character. So far I've only played a few parts here and there, but  I found it entertaining. A tad different from Origins perhaps, but entertaining. :)

DA2 is not nearly as good as it could have been, but not nearly as bad as people say.

Sir I have to disagree!!with a lot said in this topic.

Because people got so attached to their warden in DAO who was not Allowed to return in DA2 they QQ about a decent game.

No, that's just your assumption. Maybe that's something you didn't like about it, but personally I am among those who think that Dragon Age shouldn't be central around one specific character, but the world. This is one of the few directions they took the franchize in DA2 that I heartidly approve.

To bash the game only.

If you hate DA2 so much maybe try a I'm stuck on DAO forum?

No, we are just trying to help others from doing the same mistake we did, by believing that it can't be that bad as everyone says it is.

That's my opinion though, just like yours. And that is exactly why I said in my first comment in this thread that although I would advice against it, I think they should at least try the demo and check a review that I thought was the closest to being fair (7/10 isn't a bad score in my opinion, and personally I would have rated it much lower. But otherwise I agreed completely with it -aside from the interface being improved, but I played mine on PC) before deciding.

And the reason we are all stucking together in the DA2 forum is, in case you somehow managed to miss it, almost all topics here are about DA3, and probably will be until they make an official DA3 forum section. And although many of us were dissapointed with DA2,many of us still hold some faint hope that Bioware can deliver another great game in class with it's previous ones.

Either way, if you are on the fence about buying it, at least make sure to play the demo and read the most common complaints like the lack of story, the enemy waves, the lack of real choices and repeated use of the same maps.

If they were going to make one for ME2 it would've been out a long time ago. And they already said, you can google it or whatever I don't have a link, that there will not be one for DA2 because retailers aren't intersted in selling it.

Your first point is a valid one.when u say you don't think DA should be based on one character.i really enjoy fresh character in a series.

My post were ment for people who is would say DA2 is not worth 10$,as far as far reviews go no professional reviews (G4,IGN,GFAQs) would stop people from buying it for 10$.

I'm not saying its the GOTY we all wanted, but like all games it had its fun parts and it's wtf was bioware thinking parts also.

There are a lot of cheap games I could suggest to people, but not many have the play time graphics and playability as DA2.

IMO the thing that made/makes DA2 worth it's price is the time your able to put in with different builds and character types.you know when I first bought DA2,I wanted to play a rouge shadow assasin, blood Mage and a Templar.after all the game time I put in I would have to say this game is about what you rated 7 out of ten

DA2 is a good game not great. IMHO not as bad as some posters say it is. I am having fun playing the game. In fact I am working on my eleventh playthrough along with other games I am playing. At $10.00 you can see for yourself whether you like it or not. The price will not break the bank. Some listen to the backlash on these forums and did not purchase it until much later. They found out they liked the game, but YMMV.

Personally, I still consider it worth $50 and find it to be better than Origins; the only appeal Origins has over 2 for me is the ability to play as an elf, and that's not quite enough to tip the balance.

It isn't a great game like I think DA:O was but it wasn't a bad game either, if you can get it cheap then why not. You never know, you might even end up being one of those who like it.

It would be a pretty weak GoTY edition with no expansion and only 2 real DLCs. I doubt we see one. DAO had a lot to offer in a GoTY edition.

As I stated in a previous thread I paid less than $10 for DA:O Ultimate Edition and Dragon Age 2 as they were bundled together on Amazon a while back. Personally, I could have done without Dragon Age 2 and been fine with the deal. Only playing it because I payed for it and I have played Dragon Age Origins and its DLC and expansions to death already. I am finding the experience extremely underwhelming and disappointing. There are way to many re-used rooms and dungeons, elves look like slendermen out for a baby or three(for the love of god feed them some double bacon cheeseburgers!), plot isn't as rich or as deep as the original(so far have yet to complete), I could only be human, no female dwarves that I have seen anywhere(did they have a union strike or something?), item customization for companions is not as detailed, romance options are terrible(do I want the pr0n star pirate or the twig baby stealing slender elf), and i'm sure I will encounter more. Giving this one playthrough and i'm done.

It is never a good time to buy Dragon Age 2, Dragon Age 2 should be only played as punishment in the 7th level of hell.
