PUG SIlver is good fun, no need to use rail amps and it can be very testing at the end depending on the team. After a Gold game I wonder if I've had fun. Silver is just rightish for a testing chill with a beer. Although I'm starting to think SIlver players are migrating to Gold more because of Bronze players going Silver so I may do more Gold in the not too distant. I'm feeling a bit used and abused in Silver these days.

Can't say I can do Gold, but even if I could, Silver would make the bulk of my game time.

The difficulty at Silver feels well balanced. Anyone being overly reckless is punished, and bad situations can and do pop up from time to time. Best of all, weapon and class selection is well-varied.

Gold? Everything just starts choking up. Pugs are impossible to coordinate properly and certain classes and weapons are off-limits for the sake of not only clearing Gold, but being able to do so in an efficient and timely manner.  You just can't quickmatch Gold and expect things to go swell. The fact that there are so many uncontrollable variables that can make a Gold match go bad very quickly makes it a headache.
In fact, it's why FBWGG exists: it's the simplest Gold setting to organize and survive in, even if many people, myself included, dislike it.

Don't get me started on Platinum.

In a nutshell, Silver is fun because it's the highest difficulty you can go to that can utilize practically every class/weapon combination. Gold and Platinum don't feel fun because they feel like a chore.

Silver does tend to be more fun than gold. I exclusively play with randoms so I would feel about gold how I feel about silver if I didn't have to deal with:

- Rage quitters
- People who try to drop in after someone rage quits or disconnects that are low level who contribute nothing and leech
- People who refuse to use consumables
- Lone wolves
- People who won't cover people doing objectives or attempt to complete them at all

List goes on.

Sometimes you get lucky and get a good group of randoms together on gold and it's glorious. Pretty rare tho.

I play silver exclusively. I could play gold, as I found out in the previous operation (I wasn't so bad afterall), but silver is my stomping ground. Tried Platinum. Lasted 40 seconds >.< I don't belong there

Don't like platinum in general. No room to mess around, have to play the most efficient setups you have, also too methodical. And I don't like all 3 factions mixed. Also Geth is just a terribly designed faction. Don't like encountering them in every Platinum. Gold is just fine. And fun.

I play most classes on gold, but the N7 slayer I play on silver when I feel like slicing things up.

Yeah, those are the reasons I still play a lot of Silver. Also, I'm tired of being dropped in on-going FBWWG games whenever I don't host... Especially when I have equipped consumables that I'm always very low on. Last time it happened, I just quit the instant I saw what it was. I was that fed up.

I play gold but I would rather play silver (need the creds as everything but gear and URs are maxed). I do just fine on gold but there are many things that make me want to pull my hair out.

I find Silver easy now, i can solo it ffs, and Gold manageable.  
PUGging Gold however can be annoying rather than fun, just like silver can be harder in a team than solo, and sometimes i just want to chill:  with said beer.

So yes i agree with a lot of the silver-positive sentiments expressed here.

Silver is without a question a lot of fun, I have a friends team that we have as much fun on gold although we do play both.

Everything good about Mass Effect multiplayer is completely lost beyond Silver.

The best thing about this game is its diversity, and gold and platinum just doesn't really allow you to be all that creative.

Spot on. I pug my games mostly and find that silver is far more less stressfull and fun than gold.

Another primarily Silver player here. I dip my feet into Gold for Operations and when I need some extra credits, but I have the most fun on Silver. You can generally bring any class/weapon/power combination and people won't immediately kick you for it, allowing you to roll with whatever style you like best, even if it's not considered Gold or Platinum-worthy.

I play silver almost exclusively.

PUGing all the time and in Australia I either get really bad teams or amazingly high ping which makes Gold or Platinum impossible.

Silver I can do OK, even when I duck behind cover and still take 3 rockets to the face (due to stupid ping).

Yesterday I rage-switched difficulty back to silver after I wasted some 15 medigels in public Gold matches. There were some morons who went FBWGG and decided not to camp but didn't have the skill for non-camping either. After 2 more similar outcomes, I just went back to silver. Bleh.

I prefer silver myself. I can't find any good gold teams and most gold matches are FBW/G/G.

Silver strikes the best balance between fun and challenge as well.

I dont understand why people are saying gold can't have class variety or that pugs are too hard, they aren't and you can use any class really and still put in work/not need many, if any, equipment or consumables used.

Gold is a lot of fun when you've got a team that works together. I mostly play silver when I'm in a pug though.

When I maxed my rares, I just played Silver for fun. Now with Earth DLC I feel like I have to farm for credits again so it's Gold and Platinum all the way.

I have to admit I agree with what a lot of people. Silver is a lot of fun, though I rarely play it much. Unless I am leveling promoted characters. Might have to do some.

I feel the same way with gold. I joined a silver match earlier and everyone left, then more joined and they left because of my Slayer. I went back to gold feeling bad

On silver I can move out of cover without getting one or two shot constantly.  I can arm different weapons and play a wider variety of characters.  I don't have to rely on consumables, or teammates, or equip top of the line gear/weapons.

Gold and plat are not better gameplay imho, just more bosses.  Perhaps if BW comes up with something besides "the horde" relentlessly attacking, I'll play gold and plat.  Until then, I'll stick to mostly silver.

The gold and plat. players will continue to look down their noses at us silver players, smug in their preceived superiority.  However, there are alot of silver players who can easily compete in gold and plat., we just choose not to.

Lastly, some of us silver players lead by example.  We try to train the new arrivals from bronze how to be better players through teamwork and cooperation.  It's amazing to see people who run around trying to be top score for the first 2 waves, following me around for protection by wave 4 or 5.  We keep them alive so they can learn through success rather than failure.  Others don't want to learn.....nothing we can do about that.

Anyway, I'm a sliver player.  My feet are propped up and I'm not stressed.  Just having fun.....cheers!

Silver is just more fun than gold in terms of pugs. And gold with friends and mics is way more fun than gold pugs that are essentially completely silent.

Yeah. Silver is the best. Even when the PUGs are terrible, I can do pretty well there. Can't say the same for Gold.

I only play Gold when there's something new I want to acquire. Once I have it, it's back to Silver.
