Can someone please skin the Dog black? I'm not comfortable with messing with Toolsets since my FO3 killt itself after I skrewed with it.

It's prolly very easy...

Because the warpaint tints also change the base coat colour, I've had to include those as well. Going from a tan brown coat to black has necessitated changing some of the warpaint colours so they stand out better. This is just a quick and dirty mod, so they could (and probably should) be tweaked/changed. I'm open to alternative suggestions. Also, while I think I got all the warpaint tint files, I could be missing some (there were additional dog tint files that weren't referenced in the body tint 2DA). So if you find one (you'll know - when equipped he'll revert to his default brown coat colour), let me know.

I don't suppose there is any possibility of creating a black & tan skin like a Rotti? I have a soft spot for them and it would be awesome so see my Magnus (dog) in that colouring.

Not easily using the tint system. The best approach would be to get him to use a custom texture instead of using the greyscale texture common to all dogs that is used as the basis for tints.

What I'd really want is a mod that reskins a ranger pet as a Mabari. I never use the dog because the rest of the companions are so cool but that would be a neat way to get it in the game.

You could prolly base the brown off of the blood splatter thing and just change the color and make it persistent... but the black one is my baby and what I was going for when I requested a black hound...

Obviously it isn't going to be compatible with other Dog colour mods (like my previous black coat mod). I changed all the warpaint tints to a greyish white so they stand out better.

btw is it possible to make him have blue eyes or do u have to make texture for that?

It would appear that the dog model uses cn_eye_doga_0d for the eye texture, so yes you'd need to edit that. Be aware that this will change the eye colour for all dogs in the game, not that you generally get up close enough to other dogs to really notice I suppose.

EDIT: Yes, a quick and dirty test seems to confirm that:



Seems like the specular is cranked waaaay up though, so that might possibly need to be tweaked to get a pleasing result with a pale colour. Otherwise you get a freaky white eye look.
