I also want to +1 this.  Sometimes the animation does not play out at all.  They just come right up and then *XXXX was executed by XXXXXX

Does cannibals not executing players have to deal with them....eating there own? Like you always see a cannibal run towards another cannibals corpse, but never walking straight towards a player who's on the ground. Geth Troopers and Cerberus and Atlases always go for the nearest corpse if they are close to them.

I remember being executed on by cannibal, but it rarely happens or not as much as other enemies.

I don't get your line of thinking. We ask for a harder difficulty and then complain that its too hard? It's suppose to be hard. If your not able to beat it your not suppose to play it yet. Go back to gold and if your struggling there, do some more silver. You will get a better handle of the game.

I know people who think platinum is a breeze to play, I'm pretty sure they would get upset if they made it even easier. They want a challenge, that's why platinum was made.

The stomp mechanic teaches an important lesson for higher end gaming. Be a team.

Yesterday I was in the midst of bleeding out with about half of the timer gone, and was executed. I didn't see an execute message, and I didn't see any enemies near my character.

I was executed once by an Atlas, but that was a comedy of errors - trying to biotic charge an enemy, someone killed it right as I charged, I hit the Atlas with a phantom right beside me. Annoying.

It really doesn't make any sense for an enemy engaged in a fire fight to run over to a downed combatant and execute them.

Also, a single shot, no matter how damaging should interrupt the execution.

I have noticed this quite a bit as well. I simply wrote it off as the Atlas literally stepping on you (in a sense, THE Ultimate Curb Stomp). If they're ONLY supposed to execute by slamming their drill/claw/thing into the ground, then there's something broken just like the Cannibal (honestly did not know they could execute you until your post. I thought it was to balance out the difficulty of the Reapers).

I also noticed this happen at least once today. During the hack circle on the landing pad on Firebas White my friend was downed and immediately executed simply because we were swarmed by Assault Troopers. No animation played out or anything. In the time it took me to dodge roll backwards when three Assault Troopers rushed us he was downed and killed.

I can confirm the Atlas stomping issue, but it appeared to happen to me at the end of my "mash to stay alive" sequence rather than the Atlas actually executing me. I could be wrong, but the timing was pretty close.

1. I think an Atlas walking onto a downed player should result in an execution. How much does that thing weigh? It's not exactly gonna give you a back massage.

2. Executions on gold are a net positive. Barring Atlases, the weakest enemies in a given faction are the only ones able to execute, and they're found predominantly in the very early waves. The players who can't routinely make it through those waves without getting downed (especially far enough from teammates that it results in a stomp) probably shouldn't be playing gold. Between this change and the missile glitch, it'll be nice to see fewer people taking spots in gold pugs who, realistically, are just wasting a spot that would otherwise be filled by a productive team member. When the bronze heroes get tired of getting stomped 75 meters away from the team after trying to Rambo through wave 2 on gold, they'll go back to the lower difficulties. They'll have more fun; we'll have more fun. It's a win/win.

I am totally in favor of the trooper stomp returning... but I have noticed an odd bug with the Atlases.

I have seen downed players next to the group get executed by an Atlas that was very far away. I saw it 2 times in 3 Platinum games earlier today... for instance: We were on London near the starting point, guy got downed and an Atlas that was over by the Mako tank near the ammo box to the right (basically, halfway across the map from us)... executed my buddy who was right next to me. The kill feed said "Devilgood executed by Atlas".

And geth see you through cloak! And the Phantom NOW keeps her shield while moving (she always has)". People come here to complain without even playing, or simply not watching the screen while playing?

Also this buff makes gold a lot harder than before. Gold didnt need a difficulty increase. There is platinum for that.

Platinum is kind of a different ball game because it's not a linear difficulty increase like Bronze-Silver-Gold is.

I like the change, now you have to watch each other's back so it makes teamwork more important instead of 4 guys each roflstomping his own corner of the map. There's Silver for that.

Atlas which weighs tons execute you by walking on you makes a lot more sense than cannibals puking on you though...lol

I... don't actualy have problem with this. Reapers seem to want people alive, right? Or they are just too powerful, so they ignore the guys on the ground. It just made sense to me.

Did not know Primes could even stomp, they just moonwalk all over the place blasting your buddies away with the flick of their boom stick.

I've been executed by an Atlas "properly" just tonight. He kind of just seemed to punch straight down at me. Just thought you should know it is working.

I don't mind this 'fix', but you need to give players the ability to rotate their camera pov while downed so they have some chance of seeing if A) anyone is coming to res them and B) if there are nearby execution-ready units.

Also, definitely look into Atlas executions. I saw a player get executed by an Atlas that was at least a good 5 meters away on Glacier earlier.

I have to say that I do not fear to be executed by an atlas at all. That thing is still just a high HP, high damage, slow, limited and completely predictable enemy. There are no cerberus troopers or geth troopers (on gold) after wave 5 (I think the cannibals also stop spawning after wave 5, but I am not sure), so you are safe once you get past wave 5, which should be easy.

Actually, it's not just the Atlas. I suspect latency, but I've seen Cerbie Troopies and Geth Troopers walk up to me, look at me, walk away, and I got stomped in the killfeed.

Chalk me up as someone that isn't too concerned about this fix/change. How ever you define it. On Gold you shouldn't be that far from your team in the first place.

But the Cannibals executing. I have heard rumors about it. Interesting to see a mod bring it up.

Now if they all start executing I wonder if the devs well be like, "Oh, Geth aren't tossing grenades? They should totally be doing that! "
