Well I can definitely say the Atlas thing is not true. An Atlas will execute you simply by walking close to your corpse.
Hmm, well that's not supposed to be the case. I'll poke some folks at the office tomorrow and see if we can get some more info.
Stomping buff is too much, simply too much

Just as an FYI, the only enemies that should be able to stomp you are:
Cerberus Trooper
Atlas
Geth Trooper
Cannibal
and for them to stomp you, they need to run up to you and give you the boot... except the Atlas, who feeds you the drill hand... or the Cannibal who pukes on you (this one is currently kind of finnicky though).
I think that's there are some bugs with the execution things, they stomp you do fast on hold and platinum, and the ai doesn't make any sense. You could have an ally standing next to your body and they'll walk right up and stomp you instead of shooting them. Also when your teammate is shooting at them they don't care. I mean think realistically, if you were in war and someone was lying on the ground, would YOU walk blindly into enemy fire to curb stomp them, and then take a few bullets but still do it? They're like kamikazes. It just makes no sense!

How does it not make sense? A single assault trooper sacrificing himself to permenantly disable a quarter of the enemy forces for a round seems like a pretty good tradeoff.

Yeah, I had that issue on Xbox last night. Mostly they just smash me to paste, though.

It's no different on silver.

Well if that was the case then why don't they make it more realistic and just shoot your body? That'd finish someone off a lot faster then curb stomping their face in! So yes, it really does not make sense, and your statement is completely retarded.

Hmm.. there is one solution for the thread maker. Return to silver difficulty. Your complaint is absolutely pathetic. There's a reason there is multiple difficulties. I play plat difficulty all the time and have NO problems what so ever with stomps. You're just not good enough for this difficulty. Accept it and move back to bronze/silver.
GJ88, while that maybe the case, you need to get over your self. Just because this never happened to you, doesnt mean it doesnt happen. I like the new stomping buff and only had one issue with it, but reading what other people have said, apparently it is an issue to quite a few people. Your reply is absolutely pathetic in that you felt you had to deliver this information in the manner that you did. Maybe you learned your social skills spending all of our life in video games. This of course, could be the cause of lack of decency or common sense that would lead you to think that everyone has the exact same experience as you do. Its easy to sling insults when you are not face to face with the person you are talkning to. Let this be a message to all the people in here that post crap like this to other players without reason.

Yeah, I was stomped by an Atlas today on gold. That was a surprise. I don't know why it was necessary to change this, but oh well.
I believe Atlases have stomped people since day 1.
The reason you don't often experience this is because the slow buggers almost never manage to reach you before you bleed out.

"Buff" is a misnomer. It's a bug fix. They were supposed to do this the whole time. Are you really complaining that they fixed a problem in the game?
+1. I play a lot of silver and stomps happen all the time. Why should gold or platinum be any different? I'm mean they're supposed to be the same game just harder right?

Platinum needs it, it's supposed to be ultra-difficult.
If you're going down so often in gold that this really irritates you, then play silver or use a different character, since the one you're using is obviously too fragile for your playstyle.

I don't mind this 'fix', but you need to give players the ability to rotate their camera pov while downed so they have some chance of seeing if A) anyone is coming to res them andif there are nearby execution-ready units.
Also, definitely look into Atlas executions. I saw a player get executed by an Atlas that was at least a good 5 meters away on Glacier earlier.

I would sooo love this

Try telling that to the assault trooper who stomped me tonight less than a second after downing me in silver. It's ridiculous how quickly they stomp, and the priority of doing it when there are other players nearby is way too high. Yes stomping should be in the game but they way they went about adding it was way overboard. It's almost as bad as all the cheap crap they added to the geth.AmicusHumaniGeneris wrote...
If stomping makes your Gold/Platinum games too difficult and/or unenjoyable, play Silver. Problem solved.

I wonder if this is lag related? I've had and seem some atrociously quick stomps in the last few days, yet other games have been absolutely fine. Mostly gold games, a couple of platinum and a couple of silver (sometimes, I just like to have a lolz session), one stomp, and that was fair (ie, out of position, and several seconds before it happened). Other times... since when did Cerberus recruit The Flash?
Actually, thats a good point. The one time it happened to me where I died and was executed by a geth trooper all at the same time, I think there was some lag. I had only enough time to think about medi-gel, but not enough to move my thumb over to the button to activate it.

Though that usually happened when I was in a cluster of enemies. Sometimes I don't even have a chance to revive myself because it happens so quick.
