I think I posted my last test results here, so I'll post more.
Still using
this build I decided to test the one-shot snipers again, this time using as many headshot damage boosts as possible. I did a handful of Cerberus Gold games using both a Widow X and a Javelin VII. Both weapons had ammo+EB mods, Warp IV ammo, Vulnerability VI V and Targeting VI III. I acknowledge that this is not the most optimal setup for a damage focused sniper but I'm not burning two respec cards for the sake of this.
I noticed that cloaked headshots did not do much against Centurions (from full shields, 1 headshot takes out ~4 health bars), but did a large amount of health damage to the Nemesis and Engineer at full health and shields (3-4 health bars left on a Nemesis, 1-2 health bars left on an Engineer). I noticed a few times I was one-shotting Engineers but that may be because I was hitting the turret on their backs when I was shooting at them from an upward angle. I had one outlier where I managed to kill a Phantom with one Javelin headshot, but proximity mine or teammate powers might have stripped her barrier right before my shot landed. Most instances, a cloaked headshot to a Phantom with full barriers would take 1 bar of health. The Widow X with these amps serves fine - it cannot one-shot many units aside from Troopers but it does respectable damage if one aims for headshots. The Javelin does not perform noticeably better, except against the Atlas.
I did a couple of Reaper matches to test the Widow, but they don't have many units affected by the shield gate to begin with. I haven't tested against Geth but I expect performance to be roughly the same.
tl;dr - Single shots are better than they were before if you can aim for the head and put on headshot damage amps, but multi-shot snipers are still better if you want to snipe.
edit: Just remembered I had used spare ammo, not AP mod, in my tests, but this shouldn't affect the results on humanoid targets.
