I mainly use the Piranha for boss fights and on gold and higher that comes with great risk. No to the nerf or any other nerf.

Edit:  I still think and hope they leave it alone.

1.) The gun is N7 and supposed to be powerful
2.) Pi$$poor accuracy even with smart choke
3.) Recoil is insane

It's in some peoples nature to whine all the time and this board is full of those types

Within five feet. Let me know how effective it is against Rocket Troopers and Nemesis at much farther distances.

This gun has a major flaw to it compared to the other shot guns and that is its poor accuracy. You need to be point blank to maximize this guns full damage potential. Which is very risk on high difficulties.

It's light weight because you almost need an accurate side arm to go with it if you want to be effective during most of the mission and objectives.

The Claymore with the Smart choke seriously becomes a nice mid range gun and can pack a nice punch on the bigger mobs from a good 20mto30m away .The piranhas spread is too wide for anything past 5m.

So no, like the reegar, this is a high risk gun that is just fine.

No. Every good gun that we get gets nerfed and I'm tried of it. Just buff the crappy weapons and power based classes that make them on par with great weapons (e.g ultra rare equipment that increase combo damage etc)

My only issue with the gun is that it should have been an ultra rare because it's an elite gun.

Yeah, ruin another weapon. What is wrong with some of you people? BW clearly enjoys nerfing more than buffing/leaving alone. Make the game even more boring why don't you. It's not enough that we have to deal with the same old gamemode all the time? =_=

I wouldn't say it's OP, well maybe at X, but it's accuracy is weak.

I swear if any of the guns i use get nerfed because of kids like you crying for nerfs in these forums, so help me god i will find out your gaming username, find out what weapons you like using and cry on the forums for nerfs on the guns that you use. Then I will make 20 other accounts to support all the threads I make.

I'll be as surprised when this gets nerfed as I was with this week's Krysae nerf.

No, it has nothing to do with scores. The gun is overpowered damage wise on certain classes and I would rather see a gun balance than a class balance because of one weapon (Krysae/Infiltrator anyone?).

As far as the weight goes and CQC classes, that is the point. You can have an immensely damaging weapon AND all of your powers on a quick CD. There is no negative at all.

To the person saying the Piranha should be benchmarked as an UR, it isn't. It is a Rare just like the Claymore and most would agree that the Claymore is a VERY hard hitting weapon. It only has one shot per reload though, not 8, and it is much heavier.

It is definitely more ranged than the Reegar, melts shields almost as fast, weighs less, and suffers no damage loss to Armor. When you look at this, and the fact that the Reegar was made heavier to account for it's capabilities, you have to agree that it is OP/Reegar 2.0.

It should have NEVER been given a Day 1.5 boost in damage and the weight must be increased. I am not exaggerating when I say I see everyone carrying this weapon on Gold and Platinum.

Lowered DPS, not needed, the classes making it shines are the weapons expert one, like the Destroyer, GI or Turian Soldier. On other classes it's actually balanced to be a good weapon on Gold / Platinum.

Increased Weight, just no, this weapon is meant to be a compact weapon for CQC characters like Vanguards or the N7 Fury, increasing the weight would kill this specificity.

What I like about the Pirahnna is that makes non-CQ characters a little less squishy up close.

Don't nerf the Pirahnna, make the Talon stronga! Posted Image

True too, it's an amazing backup weapons for alot of classes.

Some people just hate prosperity I guess. We get some weapons that are obviously designed to give some oomph to Gold/Platinum runs, and within days people already talk about how overpowered it is. I shake my head and my fist at you.

Ya, lets nerf a gun with an effective range lower than the Reegar. Something the OP's math doesn't take into account.

And I rarely use the Piranha. Can't use it on my Adepts and Vanguards due to weight. Don't use it on my destroyer or demolisher because the Acolyte serves a much greater purpose. I sometimes will pull it out with my sentinel's and other engineers but rarely.

With Smart Choke and class bonuses, it is accurate at much more than 5 feet.

If you think it's OP don't freaking use it. There are less OP guns you can use to make the game more challenging. Don't ruin it for everyone else.

That being said, people should just stop posting here and let this die.

Why, why does it 'have' to be nerfed? How is this hurting your experience? I happen to like being able to kill enemies and completing missions.

Disagree completely. You have to be close range to dump the crazy dps on enemies.....mid range is only moderate damage....which makes sense, because it has a wide pellet spread. The fact that you need to get in the face of the enemy (like the reegar) warrents is dps output.......because getting in the face of enemies is very dangerous. High risk, high reward. It is balanced.
