It really needs to be heavier.
I disagree. It would push it out of its intended niche into the hands of those classes it is most OP'ed for, and who care little, or nothing, about weight.
Good point.
Less damage then.
Right, decrease the damage so it's still OP on weapon specialists, but garbage for everyone else.
This thread is like a broken record, endlessly repeating the same stupid suggestions.
I think you have me confused with another. My preferred method of 'fixing' this gun, is to fix the problem with Space Magic being the reason that Racial/class Accuracy bonuses can somehow override the laws of physics and cluster pellets. Those accuracy bonuses should NOT affect pellet spread, or other simultaneously launched multi-projectile devices.
Failing that systemic fix for the affected character bonuses, I wouldn't like to see anything more than a mild ROF reduction, at the current damage levels, or a return to the initial damage levels it had on release.

I haven't even got it yet. I had about two weapons at X before earth, but now... so many, yet no piranha, harrier or typhoon.

And when rebellion came out, Vorcha were EVERYWHERE. All using Reegar and Flamer.
Its called the "new" factor. A GOOD weapon in the hands of a caster, hell yea!
You guys have not seen how abysmal this thing is at range. I just need to get that FRAPS working!
Forgot to mention that it is nothign to write home about against armore W/O AP Ammo. Reegar easily comes out on top in that respect, with massive shield-stripping to boot!

Javelin with AP and Barrel mods headshotting three guardians in a row... in what way is that underpowered?

Actually... ROF would hurt it a bit more than a damage decrease would. Think about it shooting slower next time you use it.

You don't, because there shouldn't be stupidly OP guns at all.
That's why you play Bronze; EVERYTHING is OP. You can defeat Bronze as a Melee Drell Vanguard and feel like the Flash combined with Batman, who is also a part-time Jedi.

How about if other people want to be OP you don't worry about them? You guys whine like children until you get your way and everyhing is ruined for everyone else.
Instead, maybe, I dunno....don't use the weapons you dislike instead of f*cking it up for everyone else? Try that out for once. It doesn't cost a thing.

I think the gun is fine considering how close you have to be for it to effective against enemies.
/thread. This is why this thing is well balanced. It is going to devastate on Glacier, because that is what autoshotties do. Devastate at close range, take that sucker on Condor, don't camp, then tell me it is OP.
Dammit FRAPS, I'll get it working tonight.

Agreed, I can't believe people complain that a weapon is too powerful, makes no sense.

Those are guardians we're talking about. I can take out guardians with the incisor, so we shouldn't buff it right?
The Javelin weighs a ton, is overkill on everything except bosses, has poor spare ammo and has a delayed shot (which you can adjust to i guess).
They should give it a 50% shield gate reduction by default to make it at least usable against geth and cerberus.

Good luck with that. That argument hasn't worked with all the other things the babies wanted nerfed and won't work here. Bioware will cave and take everything that is fun out of multiplayer so a few elitists can have their "challenge".

The difference is if you want to run around with your OP space blaster and then I get stuck in a game with you, or god forbid, 3 other people like you, I'm stuck standing around while your reduce everything to giblets with your meat-grinder cannon.
"Play private games then, and leave us people who want to be OP alone". First of all, I play primarily public games because I have virtually no one on my friends list that plays this anymore. If your counter agrument to THAT is "get more friends and play private pity matches with yourselves", then this coversation is going nowhere, because espousing that someone else should sacrifice the ability to simply play a game in public matches for YOUR own benefit is absurd and unfeasible.
Here are the two situations;
1) Certain guns / classes / powers stay OP. People who don't like it are told "just don't use those classes". So they don't. But they end up with people who DO use them in public matches. Gameplay is impacted, and thus enjoyment, if there isn't much to do in a match because the 3 other guys are (for a previous example) GI's with Krysae's spawn killing everything. Contrary to the beliefs of some, standing around for essentially free credits isn't fun for everyone. Counter argument ---> Just play private matches. With..... who? Other people who don't like OP classes and weapons? So now people are forced to isolate themselves from the rest of the community to be able to simply enjoy the game?
ON TOP OF THAT, under the assumption that you want / like the new content based on it being OP and thus "fun". new content that is produced by BW will be UTTERLY WORTHLESS to those players because, if they want the game to remain challenging for themselves, they can't use any of the new content because it will demolish the enemies. So variety is dead, challenge is dead; long live pulling the trigger in the general direction of enemies and having money thrown at me.
2) Those weapons / classes / powers get reduced in some way to make them sufficiently not "OP". People who don't like it complain about it. They can't be super strong and easily complete the HIGHEST DIFFICULTY of the game anymore. But you can still feel like a total boss and OP as hell against enemies; it's called play a lower difficulty. Enemies die easier, you can live longer. Dash out in front of that Ravager and punch it to death. Laugh as you mow down an entire pack of Geth infantry with pellets sprayed form your shotgun. Revel in your domination over the enemies. You're having fun now, right? That was easy.
Counter Argument ---> But I won't be earning money fast enough to unlock all of the new content that's not OP so I don't want it anyway. Uh.... ok? Increased rewards is supposed to be related to overcoming a higher challenge. It's not considered a higher challenge when you have new guns and classes that nullify the difference between Silver and Gold. Thus breaking the entire concept of greater challenge begets greater reward.

We recently received Platinum difficulty, which was touted as the "ultimate challenge mode" of ME3 to date. It wasn't introduced as "The new mode designed to show case how awesome the new Earth content easy by making it difficult to beat unless you use our new OP stuff!".

Outside of its niche it fails spectactularly (7 shots to kill ONE Assault Trooper at mid-range!)
I was using a N7 Paladin, only gear I equipeed was Structural Ergonomics IV, no specs for weapon damage, per the caster norm.

Ya know, since bosses like being immune, or heavily resistant to a lot of powers, and there's powers that are dangerous to use vs a Boss type. I.e. Charge, and shadow Strike.
Problem is a light weight, potent weapon will no doubt end up like the Pirahna. Here, in a thread like this coz the weapon's role is magnified 10 fold by a handful of classes.
Those weapon heavy classes get to oblitterate bosses, and peons alike while casters have to chip away at bosses, and kite the hell out of them for a long long time.
