If you choose destroy, the boy said all synthetic would be gone.
But for Control, only reapers will be controlled?

Where's that logic coming from?

It's easier to blow something up than it is to control it.

That's what Patrick Weekes said.

That's how technology works.

I guess.

Apparently the Red light can't distinguish between Reapers and Synthetics, but the blue light can.

Because reasons.

Because whoever designed the whole setup made it that way. Whoever he was.

I agree with this 100%, makes sense.

The problem is that the blast in every game is the same, it covers everyone. This was done to save time, editing a new scene where the blast is directed would take longer to make than simply changing the color.

Because we see the blast hitting everyone is what causes confusion, and speculation :o

i always wondered that, and weekes explanation didn't really help. they just needed a con for destroy and the geth and such were it, the sob's.

but jokes on them, i don't care. the geth were hardly innocent and well they were a sacrifice for the better. but that is me, so whatever

so don't like their reasons. go into more details

DETAILS!

The control mechanism is already in place. You're just updating the controller.

Destroy is exactly what it sounds like.

It's the difference between logging in to delete a file vs taking a bat to your computer.

I like this analogy. +1

Unless the bat is also a computer, or the computer is also a bat, then no.

There's no discernible reason for the 2 beams to be inherently different (Especially the two Destroy variants, big WTF).

Unless maybe they're trying to make Destroy Shepard a Sith lord with the red.

wouldn't control be more for a sith though? i mean absolute power and all that

with destroy you destroy that power instead of controlling it

Control isn't a beam, it's just a pulse.

I was more or less just going off the colors.

An initial shockwave is released from the Citadel, then the Crucible fires a beam to the adjacent relay, which then fires another beam to another relay before collapsing in a shockwave itself.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that there's no implicit or explicit reason given for why the two are different, or how it's even possible that they could be different.

Except the bat has an innate ability to determine if the computer it's about to bash has sentience - if not, it moves on to the next one, if it does, WHAM. No explanation as to how it determines that, though ...

There is no initial beam from the Citadel.Only the shockwave is amplified and sent by the relays.

They are different. And the reasoning is very clear. The mechanism for control is already established. Only destroy and synthesis require something new.

The holokid already controls the Reapers. You are replacing the holokid. You're going through existing channels.

Yes, destroy is incredibly moronic in this regard.

The why is the pulse sent out?

Either it does something or it doesn't.

You could just as easily agrue that destory should target whatever machines respond to the catalyst's control signal. Therfore no one other than the reapers would be harmed/destryed.

Blue screen ending.

Hammer ctrl+alt+delete and force the Reapers to shut down.
