I don't see it that way, you bunch of goons can make friends with the Banshee horde for all I care. 
I play a match, I try to make sure all members survive for maximum XP and to keep as many guns on the field as possible and I get my credits.  There is no real "care for the community there" though if I meet the exceedingly rare player that has good manners then it's different but for the most part the mooks I see on Xbox Live I view with indifference at best, contempt at worst.

Now if this "gold item" is a Gear item then I'll do my best, but not for the benefit of the "community".

No, you'll get a rare card. So if you have not maxed all rares, you'll get something new, be it gear or weapon mod.

It's just that it feels like you're complaining about something that's so trivial. The goal says for any difficulty, so it's not even as if you're being asked to "waste" consumables to get an extraction on platinum, or even gold. The success of the operation is going to depend on whether or not most of the community can do the squad goal once or twice, not on whether a relatively small fraction can do it many times.

But fine, I guess this is something that a few people actually feel strongly about. As someone who only just unlocked an Earth DLC character, I wouldn't see it as unfair for people who have unlocked ALL of them fully to get something better than an (apparently) useless ammo card or the like.

This concludes my only serious response to this thread lol...

Get a few games in, and waste those few extra minutes extracting, so the rest of us who don't have time/luck to have everything unlocked might actually win this thing.

I have all of the characters maxed along with all my character/weapon rares so my victory pack will most likely contain Level IV ammo, but i'll still help out.

i wish my manifest wsa luck i see the aveerage n7 unlock is 500 to 700k mine is usualy around every two million

They should really make it an ultra rare card for those who have all the characters. Otherwise, I agree. I'm doing the squad goal then just going back to Platinum. I'll just get a level IV ammo that I could get from a Spectre pack, not worth the time, especially considering how some of the people act to others here. They don't even deserve one of the characters.

i agree id just love some validation here from bioware or something like you wont get ammo thats such a waste

So he's a no lifer. What of it? He normally contributes to all the other community packs we get so his concern is legit.

Why would he want to extract in order to get a character card he already owns? Shouldn't he be compensated otherwise? Promo weapons or black or w/e.

I'd say that the proportion of players who don't have all the Earth DLC characters is a lot higher than those who have all of them.

So if the community goal succeeds, there will be more players pleased with their new character, than there will be whiners complaining that they already have all the characters, and aren't getting what they want, or feel they deserve.

kingvenom is f****** right. seriously.
i mean alright, players who got the new
characters already maxed are the minority, yes.
but there are still a few. and they won't be rewarded
with just a rare card. it's not like the last operation
with the medigel that would help every player,
pro or noob. but this is well how can i say it...
it's bull****. i'll play it like i play everyday,
but i'm not gonna sacrifice medi-gels or rocketlauncher to help.
it just not worth it. if i want a rare card i make two silver-matches
and buy a spectre-pack.

If you're worried about consumables, do a few rounds of Bronze of Silver. Support the community so they may support you.

They would normally give out packs like these after an expansion, it helps those that dont have it yet.... so what if you already have them all, you're ahead of the game, you are still getting 2 free packs if we win. Also we loose again the next time an event happens its more difficult and maybe that has something you want.
