N7 Paladin Build (Plus Discussion, i guess)

Energy Drain: This is really up to you, but i went for Damage, Drain, and Armor Boost. You won't be engaging most non-armored enemies with your weapon, so the damage on the 4th evolution helps you sap their shields so you can freeze them.
Incinerate: Nope. Nothing in this power.
Snap Freeze: Range, Duration/Slow, and the evolution that weakens armor more.
N7 Paladin: Power Damage and Capacity, Power damage, and then you can choose which one you want between lower weapon weight, and higher weapon damage.
Shield Mastery: Durability, your choice between omni-shield strength and Shield Recharge Delay, and then Cryo Shield. Cryo shield is what makes this build awesome, so you NEED to get that.
Weaponry: Piranha Shotgun, preferably at X. Mods may vary. Putting on Armor piercing bullets will help (Not the shredder mod, but that'll help as well).
Plan: Go up to Armored Targets, hit them with Snap Freeze, and Melee them with your Cryo Shield. Congrats, their armor is now 100% weakened. Now, proceed to melt them with your Piranha, since this thing DESTROYS armored targets, ESPECIALLY now that they're 100% weaker. If you're engaging non-armored targets, just use Energy Drain if they have shield/Barriers, and then once their shields/barriers are gone, hit them with Snap Freeze/Melee them. The Melee is very helpful against Phantoms, since you'll knock them over and freeze them once their barriers are gone. If something gets close enough, then just melt'm with your Piranha.
Have any other good builds? Feel free to post them. Sorry if this has been posted before, but i just discovered this build and have been doing pretty well with it, as opposed to when i first started using this character and got destroyed by everything.

I find incinerate sometimes useful for long range tech bursts.

I can't really say I thought the class brought a great deal to the squad other than snap freeze being kinda useful if we got over run.
I haven't yet really played at length with him other than a few games on silver to test out a couple of builds. Out of the new n7's he's tied in last place with the slayer for me

The N7 Paladin needs a buff either to his Omni-Shield strength or have some sort of stun immunity.

I've really got to get my vids uploaded...
The Paladin is 'perfectly' playable on Gold, and is capable of tanking heavies easily, allowing other teammates to kill them. 'Everything' with the Paladin is about being quick and knowing what's around you... a forward facing shield isn't useful if you get shot in the back.
But it can hold off an entire army from the front, especially Geth...

Oh wow, i didn't actually realize people replied to this thread of mine. I thought it simply got FTL'd off of the front page.
To answer your question, i'd say going with Shield Booster gear would be the best idea, since it'll allow you to get close to big, armored enemies without dying as easily.
On your question about weapon choice, it's really up to you. I use a Piranha, and it will tear through a 100% weakened armored enemy, but again, it's up to you. Maybe even try a Cerberus Harrier, though you'll be less able to use Energy Drain.

Radius on ED is amazing. Cryo Explosion on SF is a no brainer. Weapon Damage in passive if cd allows for it. Fire or Frost shield is basically a personal preference. I like the dot.
You can exchange the Adrenaline Module with a Cyclonic modulator if you can't stay alive. Or put on a Power Eficiency Module if you are using a heavy gun. Use AP ammo for this build. I prefere the shredder mod with incendiary ammo though. I freaking love incendiary ammo.

ABout the weapon choice, maybe i'll use Talon , then, so I can use my shield for bashing.
Is it just me, or does the shield have a large AoE for a melee attack?

No, it's most definitely you that can't play the build.

If you swing the shield (Not planting it, actually smacking people with it) it'll hit things in front of you in a wide area. I'd say about a 90-110% cone.

Run mine 63665, wan't really digging the cryo or fire shield. I see the benefits of cryo on bosses but it messed up my rhythm and by the time i had actually managed to land that melee some GI or Destroyer had ripped through the armor, so I just took incinerate since I have more fun when I have all 3 powers, plus occasional tech bursts. Even if they aren't strong with rank 3 incinerate, they can crowd control. Keeping the fire and ice theme is fun too

I tested Incinerate on the Paladin with a 6/6/6/5/3 build. Didn't miss the elemental shield too much and Incinerate is a fun power,. The problem is that there is absoulutely no situation where you would want to incinerate instead of Snap Freeze unless you play him long range (which is just vastly suboptimal but a choice you are free to make).wraith27 wrote...

66356 is the best build for me. I find snap freeze works just the same as if you spec it for 6, I applied 6 on my incinerate for armor instead because snap freeze didn't seem to spec well against armored targets. Shield Master is a must for this build with ice because the incinerate + ice SM = equals death. I am a up close aggressive player so this one fits me best

Works just fine in gold, just don't be an idiot but that goes for anything you bring into gold.
For the shield I'd recommend taking the shield recharge rate. Even without the full 5k HP there hasn't been any situation where my shield has broken from something that wouldn't have one shotted it anyway.
On snap freeze I took damage taken increase. Still not sure how useful it is compared to duration/slow. I like them both pretty much equally.
