If the scoreboard went away there would be no more nerfers/anti-nerfers. It's all about the e-peen.

That's like saying the scoreboard was the only reason people didn't like the missile glitch.

Um....no - that was obviously cheating.  The point was that it was cheating and making games pointless.  The nerfers do not like to be heavily outscored.

No, that's just the assumption that helps you sleep at night.

"We" ( insomuch as you clump "us" ) do not like crutches that make the game too easy. ie. Overpowered weapons, or- in the same regard as most people- the missile glitch. And, in fact, a lot of the people who asked for nerfs were the people who used those weapons / classes themselves.

Anyone else realize that the "nerfers" have yet to say things like "You only mind OP weapons being nerfed because you can't top scoreboard with any other gun."

As I said, I'm not a nerfer, I don't care if a gun gets nerfed or not, and I have never and will never complain a weapon is OP. But a lot of people here are just plain hostile, and that irks me.

It's a co-op game. Yes, it's co-op, that means it doesn't matter who has the most points. And it's a game, that means it's supposed to be fun for everyone, not just you, nerfer or anti-nerfer.

Yeah but it seems any new weapon from every single dlc obviously needs nerf or that alot of people use this gun so lets nerf it so much so they won't ever use it again how does this end up helping anybody really ?

You mean the 44 page one made by a good player who backs up his arguments with math?

Surely you can't mean that one? Seeing as what I questioned was the occurence of nerf threads with the underlying premise being "nerf this, I got outscored".

I favor nerfs because having a large number of people utilizing cheap tricks realy does take the challenge out of the game. If the round didn't make it by shoestrings, it was far too easy.

I actually did say that in a thread one or two times, just to mirror something another person said in the same thread. His immediate reaction was "UM, HOW DARE YOU ASSUME THAT ABOUT ME, I'M LIKE REALLY GOOD AND NOW I'M OFFENDED".

Like really I never imagined you wouldn't like people making assumptions about you how amazing.

Fair enough.....I never call for nerfs but there are times when certain weapons made games less enjoyable for the team as a whole.  When that happened - I just wouldn't pay attention as much the rest of the game and hoped for a better team next time.

Says the person that likely uses the cookie cutter best forum approved character build and reload cancelled claymore because it puts out the most DPS. I have a laugh those supposed elites use their own formulas for maximum efficiency. They stomp on spawn points and nuke them with grenades or rockets. Where is the challenge in that?

They are the ultimate power gamers. It has to be score envy as the plebs are mnot allowed to do better than them. As such it means there is no skill to the weapon.

I do not farm, camp on certain maps, or use such tactics and get full or partial extracts on gold with people from my friend's list over 90% of the time. I play the game as inteneded not using AI weakness as a crutch and claiming leet skills. there are better player than me and I know it. I can handle my own with any character and any level.

Let's see you top 100K with only a predator and no powers or gear except the perm equip vs. competent teammates in gold hmm. I know I can't because you still use the best guns and set-up available. Better equipment helps everyone.

You should support reload cancel removal then because it is a crutch. The claymore is supposed to be slow because it hits hard. I don't use it. It circumvents the planned fire rate and reload speed to compemnsate for its benefits. Who care that devs said it is a feature. Using it is a crutch.

Its a co-op game, the idea is survive with the best weapons to get the max xp and money, if you don't like a weapon, don't use it, stop complaining

I am going to hand you a game that is basically an intro, then you pressing one button to win the game, and then the end. The point of the game was to get to the end, who cares if you only had to press one button to get to it, right?

Bioware staff themselves have said Nerfing is important to the co-op game.

They said that. About this game. It will happen.

If you don't like it, don't play it, stop complaining.

That's the beyond extreme exaggeration. No balance mess-up is that bad. The Krysae, in its pre-nerf glory, wasn't press one button to win. There was still fighting, opposition, etc etc.

A Balance All The Things person saying Anti-Nerfers want a game to be "press one button to win", is as bad as an Anti-Nerfer saying Nerfers want us to play with sticks and stones.

Obviously, neither situation will ever happen, so could we stick to the realm of possibility?

I have tremendous respect from players who are extremely skilled (Godless Paladin for example), who give suggestions for balance as I feel they can realistically determine if a weapon is OP, dirt or whatever.  But then there are those who will always show up in threads who have absolutely zero experience with said weapon being discussed.  These people can sometimes be the loudest and the ones who should be ignored.

hey look it's another "let's make assumptions about people 101" post what a surprise

You're not going to believe what I say, so this is pointless, but I don't use the Claymore. I don't play for pure DPS and I don't play a single class or setup. I like playing my Infiltrator with a Valiant, sure. I like playing my Kroguard with an Eviscerator and getting together with a group of other classes that are consistent and move around. I like using the Falcon for crowd control. I like trying new things on different difficulty levels, because they can be fun. It's nice to hop back on Silver and play with the Javelin.

But if something is obviously dominating the game and I think it's ruining the longevity, then I'll say something. If you disagree, you're free to say something back. It's a forum. It's for discussion. But if you expect anybody to take you seriously when you're drenched in baseless assumptions, you're better off just not posting at all- you belittle your own cause.

I said likely and if that is the case it doesn't apply to you. It does apply to others that I describe. You did not say whether you support reload cancel removal.

Yet the same people are defending the pirahna while telling everyone to use it because it is gravy. They are defending an OP weapon that they like. Hypocrisy.

We could. The underlying point is that nobody wants the game to be "too easy"- but Bioware are the ones who define what is, or isn't, too easy. And I, nor anybody else here, should be attacked or blamed just because Bioware agrees with us when we say something is too easy.

.. Well, I suppose I can't say everybody doesn't want the game to be "too easy". We obviously had a lot of missile glitchers who thought the game was too hard.

This is a very good point ( I say very good because I try to make it all the time, lol ).   I do not hear any of the balance folk lobby for removing this anti-balance feature.   If the claymore is balanced without the reload trick, then what does that make it that the elite players can regularly reload-cancel the claymore?

I think the trend is 'I was outscored/outplayed by player with weapon 'x', which I don't have/cant use effectively or don't like, so weapon 'x' needs to be nerfed. Just my thoughts:)

I'm either/or on reload cancel- I have no strong opinion on it, mostly because I don't think it strongly affects the game to have it, or that it would strongly affect matches if it was taken away. But Bioware has made an official statement that it's part of the game, so as far as I'm concerned, that's like asking me if I support the use of cover.

( yes i support the use of cover )

Really? Because according to BioWare, the Piranha and the Krysae are parts of the game, yet you seem to be strongly in favor of removing their usefulness.

If that's how you want to percieve it, that's cool.

It's not fair that I can't beat Platinum consistently, or that other people who are "better" at the game can beat higher difficulties and obtain credits more consistently than me. Everybody should be able to beat all the matches, all the time! Then, and only then, will we be able to feel good about ourselves.

It makes the game easier and lots of people use it and promote the build. seems to fit your criteria. If it didn't do more than other set-ups then it would not be so popular.

I guess nearly doubling DPS is not significant. Posted Image
