shale is glitching

on my husbands game everytime he talks to shale it glitches like he never did the quest to get shale anyone have clue how to fix this issue .he cant talk to him at all it goes black and its just him and shale on the screen ///<_<

Had the same problem on my first run through the game. Didn't find a way to remedy this, unfortunately. Since the game puts you and Shale to the coordinates where the first meeting takes place in Honnleath, there MIGHT be a chance that you can start the quest all over again by talking to Shale while you are in Honnleath. You could give that a try but I doubt it'll work, to be honest. In any case, be SURE to save before trying this, as it could really mess up your game.
