I just bought a new computer and I'm trying to copy the DA:O ultimate edition from my older computer to the new one. I used a flash drive and copied the entire folder over. The launcher starts successfuly, but when I press 'Play', I get the error message:

"The Game cannot launch because of misconfiguration. Please reinstall the game and try again."

I really don't wanna redownload 25 gb again. Any help?

Sorry, no. You need to reinstall the game from scratch. That's true with most Windows programs, actually.

If you download through the EA Origin service, you *can* set it to save the game's installation files, which takes up another 25GB on your HD. Then in the future, when you need to reinstall, you could do it from that (I did it recently myself). However, if you didn't make a point to configure EA Origin to do that from the start, you'll have to re-download.

So I downloaded Origin (the EA store software thingy) and it shows DA:O under "my games". I hit play and the game played just fine; that error is now gone.

However, it was vanilla DA:O with no other content or saves. I clicked "downloadable content" and there was a bunch of stuff there ready to be downloaded (warden's keep, darkspawn chronicles, etc..). Pretty much all the DLCs and extras were there except Awakening.

I downloaded everything and when I go into "other content" everything shows up fine. But I still see no sign of Awakening anywhere. Any idea how to get it at this point?

Awakening is an expansion, not a drop-in to the main campaign like TSP, RtO, and WK.  From the game's Main Menu you find it under "Other Campaigns".  (Also get the option to start DAA if you select "New Game".)

Other expansions include:  Leliana's Song, The Gollems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt.
(Oh, and "The DLC Which Must Not Be Named". Image IPB )

Awakening is not under "Other Campaigns" though; only the DLCs show up there. Same thing with starting New Game, only Origins starts, no Awakening.

This really sucks. Awakening was one of my favorite campaigns in this game.

If you look in the Solutions roundup (pinned towards the top of the forum), you'll see some entries about how installing a new copy of Dragon Age over an old one can cause Awakening not to appear.

If one of those links cannot help, then I suggest you go to help.ea.com and talk to official tech support.
