We should all talk about what we name our MP characters. Because it's fun. And I do so enjoy fun. 

I kinda name my characters after a theme I tend to take with a particular race on a whim. All my asari are named after Hindu goddesses, all my Quarians have three letter names, all my Krogan are named after trucks (save for the Kroguard who is actually NAMED Truck), that sort of thing. Anyone else name their characters something cool/interesting?

I usually name my characters after people in my life that would fit their personality or looks. If that doesn't work, I use Japanese Anime References.

I see Urdnot Charles and I imagine this Krogan sitting in a dark, candlelit parlor reading from a dusty old leatherbacked tome, calmly closing it upon your entrance and using it to beat your skull into a fine paste before complaining of the stain he's mistakenly made on the persian rug.

but that might just be me.

I name my other characters whatever I want, until I see a player who uses that particular character really well.

After this I change that character's name to match that person's origin and mimic the colors used by that person.

...Except on my Krogan Soldier, Phoenix Vanguard, and Paladin. Those stay their glorious names of Tank, Francis, and Paladin.

I named my drell Kitt Fisto (Star Wars character), because a drell is just Kitt Fisto without dreadlocks.

Most of my characters are references to various things. I have:

Perf - Male Human Adept
Rogar - Male Human Soldier
Jarvan - Turian Soldier
Harken - N7 Paladin
Nimble - Male Human Infiltrator
Geth - Geth Infiltrator
Worgendorf - Krogan Vanguard

and all my new N7 characters except the Paladin are named after RvB freelancers.

I have a 'Noble' squad, and then I just give them numbers. Then imagine one of them is Noble 7 - N7.

Would name the rest, but to save space, I name interesting names you could say. Majority are Polish tho

I was tired when I named mine, so I don't exactly remember the reasoning, but his name is apparently Cú Chulainn.

Slayer is Hades
Paladin is Famine
Shadow is Death

Ichigo , koga? Lol Asien ? That guy in bleach kogas sword would be perfect for adept/biotic .. Phantom reqeium for the phantom characters names for the shadow lol ,  d gray man gone bad = banshee

My non-N7 human characters have random human names, like Eric and Isaac.

The drell are usually named after drell, such as Thane and Feron. The Turians, the Batarians and the Krogans are the same way. Saren, Victus, Balak, Wrex, Wreav and Grunt.

The Quarians sorta follow the same pattern. Both female Quarians are Xen and Tali. The Male Quarian Engineer is named after Kal Reegar. The Infiltrator is named Jayne (a cool present to whoever gets it).

The Asari follow a simple pattern. Sara, Mara and Tara.

Vorcha just have really stupid names. Savage and Sav.

And my N7s? Four of them are named after my SP characters. Aidan, Evelyn, Jacen and Jennifer. The other two are Marcus and Bree.

My Vorcha Soldier is called Cuddles.
Other than that, Turians use latin names (Adamus and Clemens) and my Asari after classical Goddesses (Demeter and Artemis).
Humans names after my friend's surnames (Ambrose, Harrower, Harte, etc.)

Anything else I just make something out the top of my head. My KroSoldier is named Grognak, for example.

I name my characters after their SP analogue (or at least a character from the same race).

Krogan Soldier = Grunt
Turian Soldier = Garrus
Batarian Soldier = Balak

Asari Adept = Liara
Asari Justicar = Samara
Drell Adept = Kolyat
N7 Fury = Kasumi (looks enough like her)

Quarian Engineer = Tali
Quarian Male Engineer = Veetor
Salarian Engineer = Mordin

Turian Sentinel = Saren (since he's the only Turian Biotic we've seen in the games)
Batarian Sentinel = Anto

Asari Vanguard = Benezia
Drell Vanguard = Thane
Krogan Vanguard = Wrex
N7 Slayer (when I get him) = Kai Leng

Quarian Infiltrator = Xen
Quarian Male Infiltrator = Kal'Reegar
Salarian Infiltrator = Kirrahe
Geth Infiltrator = Legion
N7 Shadow = Phantom

The only exceptions are usually funny.

Cerberus Adept = Indiana Jones
Cerberus Vanguard = Scorpion
Krogan Sentinel = Prof. Headbutt
Vorcha Soldier = Sir Reginald
Vorcha Sentinel = Theodoore
N7 Demolisher = Michelle Bay
Geth Engineer = Cyrax  or HK-47(when it wouldn't allow me to use "Geth" anymore, but now I have went back to just "Geth")

When I get the rest of the N7 characters I'll have:

Destroyer = War Machine
Slayer = Kai Leng / Kerry King
Paladin = Yo Dawg / Xzibit (because he'll be running around with an M-77 Paladin)

For my human characters I just call them what my Shepard of the same class/gender has and then generic names for the combinations I don't have.

I like the names to be references to other things, or subtle jokes based on the way I use the character.

New Turian Sentinel build (Hurricane w/ Stability + Scope) I'm working on - Stormy Knight, oddly enough named after one of my dad's highschool classmates. Yes, that was his real name.

Old Turian Sentinel build (Hornet w/ Scope) - Sting

If I had an N7 Destroyer - trying to decide between Abram (after Thomas) and Abrams (after the tank)

If I had an N7 Demolisher - Selendis (because she must construct additional pylons)

QME - Rundas

QMI - Sylux

Geth Engineer - Gravemind

Geth Infiltrator - Laughing Man

Phoenix Vanguard - Fawkes

Batarian Soldier - Captain Falcon (ain't I original)

Bobo is a placeholder, though. I don't know what to call him. Maybe an anagram of Kai Leng, Kei Lang, or Lai Keng or something lazy like that.
