The ME3 sound effect sounds to Firearm like.
The ME2 sound sounded sleek, and Sexy, like a railgun should!

If Bioware had a sense of humour, they'd stealth buff it for a week so as one clip with all the SMG mods could take down a gold atlas - and see if anyone actually notices.
Of course their EA masters would never allow this. It's a pity microtransaction ruin fun.
Oh man, this would be hilarious. They could totally pretend it was an accident. Just imagine: for 24 hours, the Locust becomes the new Piranha. Just 24 hours. With the little use this weapon gets, I don't think word would spread out too fast.

Also... gotta hate these bad copies of ME2 weaponry... wonder where Shepard stashed the original and it's perfect copy.
He probably sold them on e-bay.

reduces the effectiveness of the Kassa Locust. While the codex makes it perfectly clear that a dreadnaught cannon can inflict nuclear levels of damage with one, the gun that killed to presidents cannot. Upon replacing the Ammo blocks with proper ammo, the Locusts have once again begun making the proper 'Ping' sound upon firing. It was likely that most of the paint was combusting in the barrels of the locust, creating asound that was rather similar to an old gunpowder firearm.
However, this warning seems to have had no effect, as the Average marine still fuels their locust with paint due to the persistant rumors that paint is the ideal ammo for this famous wapon. We highly reccomend implementing a safety mechanisim in the next revision of the Locust to make it so the gun will never again be fired with home improvment materials, as this would save the lives of hundereds, if not thousands of marines across the galaxy."

Just a little quick in universe joke.

Hmm another elitist..... joy, fact is that it isn't even really on par with common weapons, the weapon needs buffed badly, and on the case of the mattock it is is still one of the best ARs for gold and plat weight wise, sure th harrier is accurate and has full auto but if you have the trigger finger you can fire the mattock just as quickly and won't be running to the nearest supply of ammo every few seconds. Vindicator is even lighter and is in no way a poor weapon for gold or platinum.Dendio1 wrote...

Locust is an uncommon, so it belongs with the silver and bronze players.
Gold and ultra rare weapons are the only ones that really matter to min maxers.
Uncommon and common weapons will do just fine in lower difficulty brackets
The Phaeston, Mattock and Vindicator do excellent on Gold. The Viper got a buff recently, it is my understanding that now it's acceptable on Gold as well.
The Locust struggles killing basic mooks on silver. I understand what you mean, but this weapon is only acceptable in the lowest of the lower difficulty brackets, and I don't think that's right.
That may be the case, but im sure their rare and ultra rare competators do better
I suppose if the arguement is ,"bring the locust up to par with other uncommons", you have a point

Not just the Locust either. Still, it is hard to believe their stats don't support buffing this weapon, amongst others.

We could do some recorded gold runs with it, on soldier classes, to show our appreciation of this weapon.

Underpowered weapons generate a lower statistical anomaly then an overpowered weapon: Overpowered weapons screw people who don't use them. Thus, overuse is extriemely prevalant.
Underpowered weapons screw those who do use them. Thus, underuse is not as prevalant as overuse.
Thus. We must make both outcry, and math if we want a locust buff.
Lets put outcry here....
Meanwhile.... Ill carry the math.

The Best video would be a side by side comparison of a max damage Destroyer killing a trooper with it, and a combat engineer killing a Trooper with a Tempest.
It will take the same amount of time.
