You have been kicked out of the game.

Wow, these boards overreact big time when someone points out that an ability is way better than the others. I've seen the Slashes get used quite a bit on gold doing some very nice damage, but it wasn't until a game where three people were abusing their long-distance no-aim travel through walls to catch the enemies coming down corridors they knew they'd be coming down to waste the enemies without any threat to themselves.

Seriously, even the "surrounded in the open during a hacking objective on level ten" was stupidly easy after one side was cleared with a missile. At the very least it needs to not go through walls, but it probably needs longer cooldown too.

I can agree on the longer cooldown. It feels like to me, at least, I'm spamming a super hyped up shockwave that bred with throw and got its relatively short cooldown rate. And its rank 6 evolution that gives it more force + damage.

I just recently started playing again (I stopped playing around the time the first DLC hit), and it is my opinion that the new classes are a LOT better than the starting classes, I mean the N7 classes are just power crazy classes. First time I played with the Destroyer with the Harrier I thought I was playing bronze when I was actually playing silver, that's the sense of power I get from these classes. So either the starting classes need a revision (considering rarity of course) or the new classes are overall stronger.

tl;dr, buff up the other classes, slashes are fine

Has anyone mentioned Eletric Slash vs Biotic Slash? (cbf reading other 5 pages)
Because Electric Slash has about every advantage possible over Biotic Slash for such similar powers.
1. It ragdolls Pyros.
2. It can be cast out of cloak for damage bonus and taking less fire, while BS shares a cooldown with Charge.

Shockwave is underpowered actually. Overload/ED shouldn't even be compared to the slashes.

If by "overpowered" you mean underpowered than I agree.

I would like to know how you find it underpowered. Not going to flame you at all, just curious.

Really I just don't think they are overpowered at all. Electric slash is good basically because it's on a class with TC. BS on the other hand is on a class that needs some serious help and I think the power itself is underpowered simply because it doesn't prime for BEs.

I think if they made BS prime BEs it would go a very long way towards making the Slayer a much better class.

I believe you on the ES thing. I'd have to get the Shadow myself and see how that works. And on the Slayer, being able to prime a BE would be nice with BS. Other than that, I think he's ok as is. That's my opinion though.

I think it is good, on both, I mean it takes a level 3 power amp, or level 4, to beat Platinum comfortably with a strong team with it. And by that I mean, going into the game with a fair amount of certainty that even at close call situation, can still carry on to level 10.

But if you're playing on Gold against like Geth or something. Geth are like tissue papers, and no amps required. If you play Gold, too easy, move to Platinum. Don't be nerfing the thing, it's not like it's the hardest difficulty anymore.

If they made BS prime I would start using the slayer again. However, I think he needs a bit more than that. His heavy melee needs to target better, it needs to stagger and heavy melee draining shields is just ridiculous. Same goes for the Shadow.

Electric/Biotic Slash on Bronze/Silver = Overpowered

Electric/Biotic Slash on Gold = Balanced

Electric/Biotic Slash on Platinum = Decent, but only particularly good when combined with Tech Bursts or Biotic Explosions (used as a detonator).

With that in mind, I think "nerfing" it would be a mistake because it'd quickly be a skill everyone would skip... in fact I'm amazed how many people skip/dont max it already.

Comparing it to Shockwave is a mistake, as most people consider Shockwave to be a "below average" power... similar perhaps to comparing the Falcon (an "average" gun) to the Striker ("below average").

Neither is overpowered at all unless you're playing on Bronze or Silver where there is tons of low health basic infantry units.... once you start throwing armored bosses into the mix Electric/Biotic Slash start to lose their effectiveness.

Maybe put the cooldown on par with the new smash to discourage spamming, other than that I think the powers have enough advantages/drawbacks comparing to other similar powers to be balanced.

Smash needs to keep the exclusivity on priming BEs/Tech bursts to justifiy for it's short range. Shockwave seems a bit lackluster compared to smash and the slashes, but it's still the best biotic detonator in the game and it's instant casting makes it a great crowd control tool that the others can't be.

Since when did "useful," or even "somewhat situationally useful" become synonymous with "overpowered"? I honestly wonder what inspires some people to create threads like this.

Before rebellion I was like this, oh yeah shockwave can go through walls, good damage, staggers on hit, and I can troll snipers keep shooting my lifted (by singularity) target. But now seems everything go through the walls and deal higher damage than shockwave. Oh yeah I just don't have really long casting animation, though.

The fact that you have to go through a breakdance routine while casting ruins these powers. I wouldn't put a point into any of them ever.

They're only useful if spammed through walls, or if you use ES while cloaked and not being shot.

Uhm. Shadows and slayers are powers heavy classes. They can't really afford to carry around heavy weapons to do the damage for them. If they did they'd be horribly inefficient as they tend not to get the same benefits as weapon heavy classes.

So guess what? They need their powers to do damage! And if those powers aren't useful, then the class is trash, bluntly.

Shadow's ES knocks down enemies because they only have 2 attack powers, and their brother class, the slayer, gets 3 offensive powers and one has a knockdown evo.
Crowd Control is kinda necessary, too, IMO.

Shadow's arguably squishier than any vanguard, too. They can only regain shields with the proper evo and only vs enemies that have shield, or barrier health.

And yes, there's the windup that forces, at least, the shadow to move forward (so when fired at the banshee, you're going closer to her. Huzzah!) that leaves you open for being shot to death.

Sometimes I think some people on this board hate the powers classes. Their decent weapons get rallies for nerfing, and people wanna nerf their powers.

The nerfers believe that their powers are evil and so are their weapons.
