We took months to make the Extended Cut. Once it was complete, work began on more single player DLC. It is on teh way.

Single player story DLC with the plots, VO, story, etc is more complex than repurposing existing models, areas and weapons which is what is done in multiplay DLC.

So.....none of those shiny new weapons for Shepard to play with?

I don't think the post said that.

How'd you come to that conclusion based on Chris' post?

Wow, you totally just disrespected the multiplayer team.

... I think I like you! :D

I hope the team you have is ready to start on dlc number 2 and number 3 as soon as the first one is done.

I didn't. It was a question, hence the question mark.

Well I seriously hope the planned singleplayer content is significant and explores the parts of the universe that were not featured in the game. I hope it surpasses Shadowbroker which to me was excellent but a little bit short maybe its because it was that great :)

No, 100% of the focus of the Mass Effect 3 multi-player team is on multi-player.

Any single-player DLC plans that were in the works for immediately after launch were put on a lengthy hiatus by the Extended Cut which was given complete focus. That's in addition to the usual list of hurdles that come with making single-player DLC for a game like Mass Effect that simply don't exist for multi-player content.

The weapons, mods and powers that were added by the multi-player DLC packs aren't likely being added to the campaign right now because they want to integrate them into future single-player DLC modules because Mass Effect players love dat loot.

This, this, and this. It was announced early on that all other projects had been put on hold. They don't focus more on MP than they do on SP, their schedule just got ****ed up.

Exactly! SP DLC got delayed by the EC, and requires significantly more time and effort to produce than MP DLC! Not to mention, they are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TEAMS!

By the way, will we see a (paid or not) DLC for Multiplayer weapons and weapon mods for single player? The assets and mechanics of the weapons/mods are all completed, but they are only usable in multiplayer. I understand there might be problems integrating some of the new powers from multiplayer into single player as a bonus power for Shepard and some only fit certain alien characters.

However, weapons and weapon mods should be easy--just put them in the Spectre store or other Citadel stores to be bought. I have stalled a new playthrough waiting for the new weapons and it would be nice to use some of the new guns for upcoming single player DLC. It would require relatively short work for positive feedback. Here is a list of a growing number of awesome new weapons that cannot be used in single player under any circumstances:

Collector Assault Rifle (MP Exclusive)
Striker Assault Rifle (Resurgence MP Exclusive)
Geth Plasma SMG (Resurgence MP Exclusive)
Kishock Harpoon Gun (Resurgence MP Exclusive)
Reegar Carbine Shotgun (Rebellion MP Exclusive)
Krysae Sniper Rifle (Rebellion MP Exclusive)
Cerberus Harrier Assault Rifle (Rebellion MP Exclusive)
N7 Piranha Assault Shotgun (Earth MP Exclusive)
Acolyte Pistol (Earth MP Exclusive)
N7 Typhoon Assault Rifle (Earth MP Exclusive)

And while usable on the PC for single player, on the Xbox 360 you cannot:

AT-12 Raider Shotgun
M-90 Indra Sniper Rifle

The 'etc' Chris mentioned could mean that new weapons from the MP DLC could become part of SP DLC.

Are you people simple or something? A separate team has been churning out multiplayer content since the game launched and I'm sure they will continue to do so.

That fact has no impact on the amount of people or time that Bioware is putting toward single player content, which is a lot by the way. You want to revolt and cry endlessly about the endings then that's what they work on and you get the EC. They are now working on further content. Said content takes more than two minutes to do.

Grab a brain, be patient and if all else fails, do something else with your time or play another game.

Yes, they are simple. And yes, they will continue to whine because they don't keep up-to-date with announcements made. It pisses me off too because it's not hard to read the threads that are already on the front page which have the answers you're looking for.

You're a more tolerant man than many of us, Mr. Priestly, the way you have to politely answer some of the threads on here. Must take a tremendous amount of willpower not to flip tables... :)

Singleplayer DLC. I don´t know, but with that conclusion waiting in the background I think it´s like the Devs undressing just another time before taking another dump on the fans.

I rather pay for a new Normandy Armor.

Thanks for posting this Chris.  It just confirms that BioWare has not abandoned the singleplayer campaign in ME3. Now, is there any we'll see a high-resolution texture pack similar to what was released for Dragon Age 2 (sorry, had to ask)?

I am totally OK with the delay for this very reason. I thought the extended cut was good enough for me to want single player DLC.

A formal announcement and date, even if it was two months from now or so, would be cool.

@DDG: Do you use texmod? Not perfect, but better than nothing.

Yeah, because it's not like they just spent months fixing the ending for free or anything...

Or that they already released a significant day-one DLC or anything...

This is a question thats crossed my mind, too.

This is little more than a case of people posting before thinking - unless one is going to assume that they're intentionally delaying their own profit opportunities, common sense would tell you that whatever they have was set back by the release of the EC - which was something they were upfront as both being a delay and was a direct response to the complaints of the fans - and hence is on its way.

I don't really understand why people are so impatient.

I hope the SP dlcs are really good. I still feel they have a lot of repairing to do with their community considering Bioware used to be such an awesome company but don't think most people feel that way at this time. I wil say they did bring out the EC so at least they tried.

Glad to hear it, Chris.

I want something like LOTSB for once. September 7th, 2010 remains one of the most glorious days in gaming as far as I'm concerned. Yes, I like the DLC that friggin' much.

All of these new powers and weapons. Care to bring any of that to the campaign side, Bioware? Hell, at least send over the weapons: That wouldn't take but an hrs worth of work.

WHOS FUALT WAS IT, that complained about the ending?

yeah thats right.

While we are on the subject, I just like to post a link to a poll on bringing specializations into DLC to show Bioware a high enough demand from the community. For more details just click on the link below and place your vote when you get to the page.
