Back in March - Bioware's Casey Hudson was quoted:

“It’s very important to us and we will always listen to feedback, interpret it and try and do the right thing by our fans. That’s why if you look at Mass Effect 2 we knew that people wanted to spend more time with a character like Liara, and so we created an ongoing storyline with her as part of the comics and then built it into the DLC stuff, and we’re always listening to fans.

We have some really great multiplayer content and some really great single-player content coming over the air, and their feedback will become part of how we design that.”

If feedback helps shape the DLC's, hopefully Bioware gives players plenty of dialogue options in this new DLC. And just to be clear, dialogue options as in player input ranking higher in importance than auto-dialogue to set the tone for conversations.

I don't have an issue with auto dialogue, but when it's used in the right manner. I prefer auto dialogue in critical plot points as it give the writer more flexibility in determining the outcome of important plots. However i want to choose what to say to my squad, the "click and watch" dialogue was a swing and a miss for me, it was terrible and especially when talking to my LI Ashley it was sad to hear 3x one liners then "hey commander".

I like the part where Chris states that work goes into the plot.

Free Mass effect DLC idea

When i was playing ME3 the other day i thought to myself "the Normandy interior looks pretty crap!" i mean there are wires hanging out everywhere, loose panelling, lack of light and also a skeleton crew! I believe that a DLC which see's you linking up with Admiral Hackett and the Alliance fleet where there are new places to explore similar to the Citadel but with a more military feel. This could include an N7 area where Shepard could purchase the standard issue Alliance armour and also N7 weapons. Also in the explorable area is an Alliance shipyard where you can purchase interior upgrades for the Normandy including new areas such as a firing range and personal armoury where you can see all of Shepards weapons and armour on the walls and tables. You can aslo purchase a full crew and upgrades which tidy up the Normandy interior by fixing panels and lights and also hiding loose wiring. The DLC will also include more N7 missions which you will conduct on your own. These missions will see Sherpard targeting high ranking Cerburus officials, sabotaging bases and stealing intel. These missions will see Shepard using his N7 skills to full effectivness and all missions will be able to be completed without killing any enemies which will yield special Alliance rewards or you can choose to kill every single enemy which will yield different rewards.

I hope you enjoy my idea and if enough people share and spread the word who knows what could happen

Its an interesting concept - though I'm not sure about the idea of 'cleaning up' the Normandy interior, if only because, to be honest, it felt more 'military' with the more subdued lighting and temporary plating.

Realistically, we don't need a second shop on the Normandy - there's no good reason why any further stuff to be added as purchasable items can't be added to the current shopping option in the Shuttle Bay.

The extra N7 missions sound interesting, but to be totally honest, I'd rather they stuck to building more brand new content with a story behind it rather than adding new throwaway missions.

The mention about a firing range got me thinking about how they did the Pinnacle Station DLC back in ME1 - what if we had a 'holodeck' a la PS that, among other things, offered several simulation options... based on mixture of the existing Citadel firing range (complete with properly functional target boards) and the existing MP, where all the MP maps could be selected and Shep could choose whichever enemy group. New enemy forces could be added as the game went on (so Shep started off with Cerberus or Reaper forces, and would unlock Geth at the point of the Geth Dreadnought mission) and new individual enemy types could be added as they're encountered in the main game (so Ravagers would only appear after doing the Utukku mission). New maps could be added as and when they're played as N7 missions.

This would essentially allow the new MP maps to be seamlessly added into the game without needing to figure out a Hackett-voiced intro like the base N7/MP maps have.

Say they put the new 'simulation suite' in the area that used to be the ME2-era armoury. I reckon that would offer a good SP-orientated way of immediately re-purposing all the current MP-only maps and kit without it taking a huge amount of effort (it would also give a good way of allowing Shep to do Earth-based MP missions while still fitting into the story).

To be honest, I'd be quite prepared to pay for that.

multiplayer dlc drops are interesting but not compelling reasons to keep ME3 in the tray. i want 1p dlc for ME3 but if its gonna stay on the ME2 'when we get around to it' dev cycle ill prolly just mothball the game till theres more than 1 dlc pack on XBL.

was really hoping BW figure this out on ME2, the delay between launch and 1p dlc is staggering. i dont count thr EC fiasco, i didnt ask for free content to explain something i didnt think was complicated from the beginning

been using the datapad app and infiltrator ios game to keep ratings at 100% for no reason too. havent played 1p in 2 weeks, prolly no where near final trench run anyway. need 1p dlc soon to get back in the reaper killin mood

not gonna sell ME3, prolly buy all the dlc at some point but right now i feel like watching a review before buying, maybe waiting for goty release or a sale on XBL months later. not feeling compelled to see more of ME3 universe, mainly due to dlc delay

By what metric are you judging things by when you refer to the delay as 'staggering'? Just how many other games produce fully-fleshed out single player DLCs a la Overlord within 3 months while simultaneously working on something like the EC?

The fact that you 'don't count it' doesn't somehow change the fact that it was released, and in order to make it, development resources had to be diverted to it. You're free to dislike the priority it was afforded but its simply silly to try and claim that it shouldn't be factored into consideration.

Doesn't matter if you want to count it or not, doesn't change the fact they spent their time making it first before their other planned SP DLC.

........................sigh

Chris Priestly has already responded to this thread (as with many other similair threads)

Levithian is the next DLC.

my greatest question is, will I see anymore WREX? GRUNT? ZAEED?

IMO if Wrex isn't in everything, there's not enough of Wrex

All of these new powers and weapons. Care to bring any of that to the campaign side, Bioware? Hell, at least send over the weapons: That wouldn't take but an hrs worth of work.

NO KIDDING! SP may not exsist in a while if Bioware doesn't step in.

MP content is super easy to do is the point some are missing you don't have to get voice actors in to read lines in detail or get a script.

Plus EC like it or hate it did take time away from other dlc content.

Hh... I always figured DLC is written and developed alongside games, sometimes even taken out of games to be put in at a later date and price.

Well it is, but maybe not for ME3. It was a very complete game when it came out.

hey, guess what...

Multiplayer and single player are developed in different studios. If it's taking longer to make sp dlcs, that's because they have to do much more animations, voice acting, script writing, and a lot of designing (not just little maps, but massive missions). They've spent most of this time working on the EC, and now they're just getting to some new content.

It's people like you, rushing them and complaining because it's not out yet, that cause them to release the DLCs with glitches and bugs all over the place. When the fans start complaining, they start rushing, bumping up the release date and losing the time to test for bugs and glitches.

So don't get your panties in a twist. Be patient, because the longer it takes, the better DLC it will be.

Oh and also "oh great, another one of these threads..."

Exactly. You just know that if they released the SP DLC with glitches and bugs in, the same people who were whinging about how long its taking to release will be the first people who start whining about bugs. I wish people would exercise a bit more patience - I'd imagine bioware are getting enough pressure from EA to release as it is.
